As soon as I arrived at reception and said I had a reservation, I was told it was not possible to have the room yet because check-in is at 2 p.m., even though I had booked for the day and not the night. The receptionist asked if I had booked a day room, but the problem was that he immediately assumed it was a night booking and acted as if I was at fault for arriving 'too early.' He was rather aggressive in his way of welcoming, speaking loudly, and when handing me the card machine, he threw it so it hit the table.
In the rooms, you can hear everything happening in the corridor, so there is no soundproofing at all. It’s basically like a hostel but with separate rooms.
Oh, and there was aggressive rock music blasting in the background at reception, which felt more like a gym than a hotel. Even the soap in the bathroom says ‘Rock your body’ on it, which is the exact opposite of what you expect when looking for calm and sleep in a hotel.
Also, when you press the button to turn on the bathroom light, you have to wait 10 seconds before it actually turns on.
There was no kettle or fridge in the room, so don’t expect any comfort beyond a basic bed and a bathroom. There was only one pillow per bed, and it was not as comfortable as in other hotels that I consider to be true three-star hotels.
I have no illusions that writing this review will change anything, as the management is surely aware of these issues already. But profit and filling as many rooms as possible clearly matter more here than quality, comfort, or hospitality.
Ibis is basically the Ryanair of hotels: if you just need a basic room with no expectations, it will do, but don’t expect comfort, peace, or a...
Read moreI reserved 2 nights at this hotel as an Accor member. What was promised on the reservation was. New sweet bed by Ibis bedding and PARQUET FLOORING. Then I was given a room on the lowest floor, told by the reception that this was the only room left. To my astonishment, I found the room had carpet flooring, then I enquired with the young man who was on duty at about 7pm , he told me all rooms in this hotel come with carpet flooring. This is really ridiculous. I received an email asking me to check in online , which I did the day before , among others , I was asked to put in my request , for which I requested a quiet room on a higher floor. But what was given to me was a room on the first floor where the meeting rooms were located. , the window of the room looked straight at a wall. When I requested to change to a room I had requested. , the young man told me all the rooms were given out ! Surely, when the room I requested with early online check in should have been reserved for me and not given out ! It is ridiculous that being an Accor hotel member is only entitled to left over room? The room is truly basic despite a relatively high price (Prague in fact is not a cheap place anymore ), smelly pillows , uncomfortable beds , no basic amenities like facial tissue and drinking water . This place can only be given 1 to 2 stars.
I am truly disappointed with Ibis hotel ! Which has a vision that states "Always give people more than what they expect to get"! My experience so far showed that they have totally failed in their vision. I believe if you let down your customers, they will never return. Don't stay here , in fact , don't stay...
Read moreWe spend 3 nights, and the hotel was very busy during the day and very quiet during the night. We stay in a room in front of the lifts which concerns me on the first day because of the possibility of the noisy while others waiting for the lift but I couldn't ear anything from my room which was great. We can't expect luxury on 3* Hotel but we have what you pay, it was clean, comfortable bed, TV and few channels around the world, spacious toilet and housekeeping visit every day to do the bed, collect the rubbish and change the towels when is needed. Breakfast was included and the variety of food was excellent, as 3* hotel we didn't expected so much so much and was refilled all the time for everyone be able to try everything no matter if was 10 minutes before they close the Breakfast. Disabled toilet available but not sure about the wheelchair ramps so I couldn't see any to acess the Breakfast lounge. 3 lifts available and is around 36 rooms per floor, and around 8/9 floors so is quiet big hotel. They have large amount of leaflets with activities displaying the the reception area and maps copies are available upon request. We booked a boat dinner trip with dinner included, so we back just paid and the hotel receptionist dealt with everything and he was including pick up and return. The amazing part if you need to check out at 12 noon and your flight is at night they have a room to keep your luggage all day without extra fees. The hotel is on the right side of this shopping center so very convenient located. Staff are very polite and helpful. If I recommend? Yes, definitely I...
