Very disappointing and so not worth it. Staff is 99% arrogant and incompetent. Food was OK, but I waited for 30 minutes for a cold starter. Cakes are not bad, but they look much better than they taste. Those who are interested in funny details of our visit will find them below.
It all started with a hostess who did not want to let me through to the table where my friends were expecting me without finding out the name under which the reservation was made. She was very thorough in doing her job properly, I thought, and thanked the pretty young lady for escorting me to our table. But...
Sommelier appeared to be a complete phenomenon. It takes a lot of talent trying to mix two different types of wine in a proportion of 1:1 in the same glass during wine tasting, and then lecturing customers in a dissatisfied tone that "he doesn't have time for all this" (literally!) when they ask him to not to mix it like that and rinse the glass at least before pouring a new type of wine. Wine list would do a much better job, at least it won't try to convince you that this approach and behavior is normal.
While I was paying the bill, I mentioned to the waiter that the experience with impolite sommelier would affect the amount of the tip. The waiter (who did not serve our table, but asked us to leave before 10 o'clock on Friday night twice before bringing the bill) did not ask what was wrong with the service. Instead, he gave me that look like I owed him a lot, made sure I understand that he was very offended, and he was very clear in his attempt of trying to show me how disgraceful and unworthy of his respect I am, because it was him, and not the sommelier, who ultimately benefited from the tip [and he undoubtedly deserved it for all his good deeds in life]. Shame on me.
I'm sorry, guys in Styl & Interiér, for bothering you with our visit and making you unwillingly serve us some food and drinks. I promise, I'll try to do my best in making sure it does not happen again.
...And I was so looking forward to spending an evening...
Read moreThe concept: We sit in a middle of a shop terrasse, price tags on every single items surrounding you. Pricey for the average "furniture" from "bazaar" with second hand chinese "things"? The food?, after brief enjoyment of the daily soup beans & tomato Soup you got the pretentious classy brutal service, all tattoos inclusive. Pride: homemade desserts are supposed to be fresh, concept wise hard to find in Prague.indeed you will be served from the week-leftover a slice of chocolate cake even though you choose from the window display at the entrance. Mr Dudak (owner) how come your waitresses take picture portrait of their client when they do not like them? And on another hand, they hand out your manager business card (brother)
Obviously an underestimated great location which deserve better care, but from who? On the website: "designer Help" :D, I tried to understand who or what needs the most of the "help"you looked for.
Mr Dudak, after meeting you directly few days ago, as you presented me experience in PR but not in restauration service, yes it is 2 different professions. Above all a good product is its best advertising. And guess what? I still have some hopes this might happen.
PS: weekend managers are suppose to describe you de facto what happens in your restaurant. But once I meet you few days ago as you qualified me as liar, you identified me immediately I suppose because your employee took picture portrait of me.
After 20 Yrs living in Prague and after my sixth visits in your establishment, I can confirm, till today that not a lot changed here, except your increase of your prices (4x more) I did a similar review a year ago and I still don’t know why I still put a single star. (The location may be) some people can’t read this review in English, I will make then a translation in czech to clarify better what could have been...
Read moreThe staffs were so very snobby here. The place and atmosphere is very nice for a getaway from the busy city center. Maybe because I was very casually dress (being a typical American), I had absolutely NO service. I went right after dinner time. There were only about 5 table with people. I was seated relatively promptly. The service ended there. I tried several times to even get something to drink with ZERO success. There were 1 waiter and 1 waitress along with a person that runs the entrance area that seated me. There is no way the staff is that blind. I waited and tried for over 20 mins. I finally decided to just leave. Since I live in Switzerland, the price of their food is okay. The food and drinks there are definitely expensive for most Czech and even most other medium-sized European cities. I can not testify the taste since I receive NOTHING. I visit Prague at least twice a year and made several friends there. I heard there are occasionally small gathering for readings and other intellectual events at the resturant. The place can be very "upscale" and "hippish" there. Of course, that also does mean the people and people working there can be quite snobby. If you are in Prague to experience Czech and Prague culture, skip this place. There are many other great atmosphere places nearby. If you are "dressed-up" and feel you are better than other people and pay extra for the look, this place might be for you. I will absolutely not ever go...
