During my recent visit to Prague, I had the pleasure of dining at U Rudolfina Restaurant, and I must say it was an unforgettable culinary experience. This charming establishment not only impressed me with its excellent food and beer but also left a lasting impression with its friendly atmosphere and mouthwatering ribs.
First and foremost, the food at U Rudolfina was outstanding. The menu featured a variety of traditional Czech dishes, prepared with skill and finesse. However, it was the ribs that truly stole the show. Cooked to perfection, the tender meat practically fell off the bone, delivering a burst of flavor with each bite. The rich, smoky barbecue sauce complemented the meat beautifully, creating a heavenly combination that had me craving more. Without a doubt, these were the best ribs I have ever had in my life.
Aside from the exceptional food and beer, the welcoming atmosphere of U Rudolfina added to its charm. The cozy interior, adorned with rustic decor and traditional elements, exuded a warm and inviting ambiance. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and passionate about sharing their love for Czech cuisine and culture. Their genuine enthusiasm and attentiveness contributed to a memorable dining experience that felt like being welcomed into a local family establishment.
Lastly, it's worth mentioning that U Rudolfina's location in Prague added to its appeal. Situated in a vibrant neighborhood, the restaurant provided an authentic taste of local life. The area's lively atmosphere and proximity to other attractions made it a convenient and enjoyable destination for both locals and visitors alike.
In conclusion, U Rudolfina Restaurant in Prague is a hidden gem that excels in delivering delicious food, exceptional beer, and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're a meat lover craving phenomenal ribs or a beer, this restaurant is a must-visit. I wholeheartedly recommend U Rudolfina for an unforgettable dining experience that showcases the best of Czech cuisine and...
Read moreIt was my last night in Prague and I had yet to try the pig knuckle.
The walking tour had just ended and I was heading back to my hostel via the only route I knew, since I do not understand Czech.
So just happened upon this place and I could see it was crowded. That’s always a good sign. But I kept walking until I noticed they had a picture of their pig knuckle in the window. It looked really big and good. And I saw some customers eating their pig knuckle. The menu was enlarged and posted in the window too.
I read no reviews, received no recommendations from an in-the-know local. I just took a chance and went inside. So unlike me as I rely heavily on Google Maps and Trip Advisor.
Once inside the smells of roasting meat were intoxicating. I was dining solo and was seated almost immediately.
The waiter was brusk and unsmiling. He was moving fast. No nonsense. So when he came to take my order I just pointed to the entry on the menu for pig knuckle.
I think he asked me in Czech what I wanted to drink and Coke works in any language.
The pig knuckle arrived quickly. It was huge with crispy edible skin. Underneath of which was fall off the bone tender pork. And lots of it.
Even though it is served on the bone it is nothing at all like spare ribs or pork chops. It had to have been smoked over a slow fire for hours. It was so delicious. I savored every bite. Who knows if I will ever pass this way again. I enjoyed the moment.
I must say U Rudolfina was a very happy accident. The price was moderate but reasonable compared to say Chicago or New York. Service was impersonal but efficient.
Definately not a tourist trap despite its location close to the Charles Bridge and the concert hall. 5 stars with a...
Read moreI ordered smoked ribs on cutting board for 355 Kč. There was around 400-500g of meat on it and normally two people can share it. ---My Opinion---- I was just extraordinarily hungry then but it was a lot of meat as you can see from the photos. You could smell the smoked-smell of the meat as it gets served even before you eat it. The taste was as delicious as the smell. However the meat gets intense after a while and it may be too much. You might be able to eat it along with beer. They also serve mustard, sauerkraut(cabbage pickle), and cucumber pickles on the same plate. The mustard was soo good and was just the sauce needed to freshen the taste of the meat. The meat also suppressed the bitterness of the mustard so they went well together. Pickles(specifically cucumber) were delicious. My friend ordered grilled chicken breasts wtih sun-dried tomatoes and he liked it very much so. The chicken breast were filled inside with the sun-dried tomatoes and they looked exquisite. I tried the dish and liked the taste myself too. There is around 200-250g of meat and my friend was full when he finished his dish. The classic goulash(my other friend ordered) was tasy with its soft meat. It looked...
