We stayed here for 4 nights recently and on the whole, it was a decent stay though I would probably say that it felt a bit more like a BnB than a "proper" hotel. Given the price we paid, I think it probably set my expectations a bit higher too.
Overall: It's decent as a base due to the very good location but if you want to enjoy a hotel stay then you might want to look elsewhere. If we do visit Prague again, I will probably find another hotel.
Pros: Excellent location, literally next to a tram and metro entrance. Also very near attractions like the Charles Bridge, astronomical clock tower and Franz Kafka's statue Decor and rooms were quite new though some things were a bit impractical (weird wardrobe!). It was handy to have a microwave in the room though. Our room was generally clean with regards to sheets and towels but some bits were a bit dusty e.g. corners and bed cover Quiet even though it is along a main road Room was warm once we spotted the heater behind the curtains which was separate to the air con We had the junior suite which was reasonably spacious but layout probably could be better. E.g. you couldn't see the TV if you sat on the couch and the TV was miles from the bed!
Cons (ish): Don't go in expecting a typical hotel reception... it is literally just a desk but the staff seemed friendly enough Bed was a bit too soft... It felt like we were rolling into the middle due to the dip. Not sure what the typical clientele is but judging by previously watched videos, I would say it ranges... Toiletries provided were very basic - quality not great compared to more typical hotel chains so maybe bring your own! Hot water took ages to turn on but eventually does work! Communication wasn't great prior to us arriving. The website suggested they could help with airport transfers and I'd emailed to enquire but heard nothing back, despite sending a further chaser. We didn't really have many issues to test the overall service level but given the small scale of the hotel, you might want to manage...
Read moreDO NOT STAY - BUGS IN THE HOTEL BEDS!!
I would give this hotel 0 STARS. It astonishes me how it is even ranked as a 4-star hotel.
There were bugs in the bed we saw but arrived too late to check out of the room. During the night my partner was bitten by bugs as well with marks to show for it.
The only mildly appealing part of this is the location, because it clearly isn’t the actual hotel (if you can call it that).
The “hotel” is very bare-bones with one part-time front desk person until 11pm who is clearly extraordinarily overworked.
I saw the numerous 5-star reviews and thought this place was going to be a great find.
WRONG!
For the price paid, I was actually shocked at what Quentin Prague Hotel was like.
Here are a few problems aside from the bed bug problem: Bathroom mirror was literally taped to the wall with packing tape Sheets were dirty on arrival Towels were torn and tattered Bathroom blinds didn’t close for privacy AC was not working for a number of guests Bathroom toilet seat cover cracked
Here is the biggest issue - THERE WERE BUGS IN THE BED!!!
When raising the issue with the front desk in the morning, they were shocked. They asked if we wanted another room and we told them we were instead going to leave the hotel as we did not feel comfortable staying at a place where there were bugs in the bed in any room.
They said to contact their reservations desk for a refund as they could not process it themselves (that alone should tell you what kind of place this is).
Two weeks of nearly daily emailing the reservations desk and the hotel-specific email and there has been ZERO response nor refund.
The lack of customer service or even a desire to make things right when there is clearly a problem with their “hotel” is a sign this place in no way cares about their customer nor the business they’re in.
Avoid this place at all costs. If not for the bed bugs, then for your own...
Read moreWe had very mixed reactions to the Quentin Prague after staying there 9 days in July. First, the location is terrific: very easy access to the Jewish Quarter, Old Town Square, and Lesser Town, which is where Anglo-American University is, which we were working at. Second, the rooms were (with one qualification, which I'll get to) were quite nice; at least one of them — a Luxury Double was. (We stayed one night in a Superior Double/Twin; it was adequate but not nearly as nice.) The luxury double was spacious, with a good double (king-ish) sized bed that was very comfortable, a ktichenette area with mini-fridge, a large armoire, and a sofa. The AC was quite powerful (in my experience rare in Prague) and the shower was one of the best I've had in Europe, with plenty of hot water. But there were two major problems. First, the room was designed with a clear window between the bathroom and the bedroom. (Who thinks that is a good idea?) It had blinds installed inside the glass, but — here's the thing — the blinds were broken and could not be closed. So, no privacy in the bathroom for the duration of our stay. Second, was very spotty service. The problem wasn't the staff per se, who were uniformly friendly, courteous, and helpful. But somehow things just didn't get done. It took them 5 days to figure out the blinds could not be fixed. Meanwhile we had to ask multiple times for the bedding to be changed out in the middle of our 8 night stay in the room. One day we got no service to the room at all. And the hotel has only one elevator for six floors, service and guests combined. Sometimes it was just useless waiting. The breakfasts were good quality and adequate range, but with no variety from day to day, so we got bored with them eventually. We really wanted to like this hotel. But I'm not sure we could get over our reservations to...
