Hands down the best experience we have ever had and it’s all thanks to Josef Salah Guest Relations and Concierge Manager! My husband and I went to celebrate our 4yr wedding anniversary. Prague and The Emblem hotel blew it out of the water. We are so happy we saved The Emblem Hotel for last as we would have been very disappointed because Prague is just amazing!
The Emblem Hotel has the perfect combination that will be extremely hard to top! The room was so luxurious with the bedding and mattress. The location is the absolute best period. But, the personal touch and friendship like relationships you make with the staff is something I have never experienced. It felt like family!
The way Josef Salah the Guest Relations and Concierge Manager instantly connected with us was more personable then any Las Vegas resort treats us. It started with the lunch Josef recommended. That restaurant was the best personal experience we have had and the best fish yes fish we have ever had! In fact, the walking tour we did even mentioned it is the best restaurant in the oldest square of the town. Josef would always say hi ever morning with true compassion and interest of how to make whatever we are doing the best we can have. On the way to coffee before a walking tour? “must go to sisters” no surprise it’s amazing!
What truly toked it way over the top was when he reserved the roof top Jacuzzi for us on our last night in Prague. Normally I am not a hot tube guy and my husband and I are not the cheese romantic kind of guys but this was insane! We both hocked line and sinker for that sunset jacuzzi. A private roof top with Prosecco for an hour with just you in your loved one?! It felt like a 2nd honeymoon and something my husband will never forget, never expect to top it, and never thought it would have been that intimate.
Josef, Robert and Ron will never forget you and we thank you for giving us something truly special to always remember. You will always be equal to family to us. We already want to come back out to just see you. You seriously made all the difference and why we pick to stay at smaller yet high level hotels rather then the four seasons. You gave us something no amount of money can buy and after 9yrs of being together we feel even more in love with each other that night.
Thank you so much and so grateful for you! We are so honored for your friendship. Honestly, no thanks can truly express it how special that was for us. You...
Read moreThe only reason this hotel earns any stars is its central location and the manager’s effort to partially redeem a terrible breakfast experience by waiving the charge. Otherwise, the hotel is old and poorly maintained. The room we stayed in had a terrible odor, forcing us to keep the windows open day and night to air it out. It smelled of stale body odor, as if it hadn’t been ventilated in a long time.
The gym is tiny and almost unusable, and the spa amenities are extremely minimal. The worst part of the stay, however, was the breakfast. The buffet was sparse and disappointing, yet they charged an astonishing 35 euros per person. While this included one entrée, you could easily find a better, more reasonably priced breakfast at numerous restaurants or cafés nearby.
The restaurant manager’s behavior was even more appalling. Shortly after removing our plates—while we were still drinking our coffee—she approached us with the card reader in hand and asked, “Can you pay now?” This was surprising and unprofessional, especially since they knew we were hotel guests; we had checked in upon arrival. I agreed to charge it to the room, but when I gave her the name of our suite (which doesn’t have a number), she demanded the room number, becoming increasingly impatient. I clarified again that it was a suite name, not a number, but she made us feel rushed and unwelcome. After paying, she returned, insisting she “needed to explain” why she asked for the room number and accused me of raising my voice, which I hadn’t done. I finally asked if she intended to continue ruining our breakfast.
This was by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. The hotel manager did apologize and covered the breakfast charge, but it didn’t make up for the experience. We stayed here based on a recommendation from someone who visited years ago, but it’s clear the hotel has...
Read moreThis was an interesting stay for us. On the plus side, it is very central to a lot of Prague sites like the Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, etc. It's definitely catering to a higher end clientele and the service was great. However, it seemed to lack a few things that would make it a must choose over other high end hotels. We had a larger suite. The bathroom was good sized but the rest of the room felt cramped. We had a bed and a sitting area but there really was no room to move like I would think. Also, many things seem to be the design over function mentality. For example, the sink has some beautiful marble for the basin. But you turn it on and it will splash onto your clothes as you wash your hands from the water dripping off them. Things like that just shouldn't happen. Additionally, we had lounge access. Normally, a lounge not only had refreshments but also little treats throughout the day. Here, it was coffee, tea, and water. There were a few rooms for meetings, to play games, watch a movie which were nice. But if you didn't want to do any of that, it really was not worth the additional charge. The breakfast was very good in the morning though. A nice selection of pre-prepared items along with a menu of cool to order, like eggs and pancakes. Staff was very attentive and friendly which was expected and appreciated. But all in all, it was one of those stays where I left thinking it was fine...
