If you’re a steak lover visiting Prague, Max’s Steakhouse is an absolute must. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and friendly smiles. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, and the service was exceptional throughout our visit. The atmosphere had a lovely, relaxed vibe, with stylish décor that balances modern charm and cozy comfort—perfect for a memorable dining experience.
Our Steak Selection
We tried a trio of steaks, and each one was nothing short of amazing:
Rump Steak: Full of bold, beefy flavor, the rump steak was beautifully seared and perfectly medium as requested. It had just the right balance of tenderness and chew, allowing the natural richness of the cut to shine. A steak that proves less can be more when cooked right.
Filet: Simply exquisite. The filet was incredibly tender, almost buttery in texture, and melted in the mouth with each bite. Mild in flavor but luxurious in texture, it paired perfectly with the accompanying sauces and sides. A refined and elegant cut done to perfection.
Rib Eye: Rich, juicy, and packed with marbling, the rib eye was the star of the show. Bursting with flavor and grilled to a beautiful crust on the outside while remaining succulent inside, it offered that indulgent, satisfying experience steak lovers crave.
Chicken Wings
Don’t skip the starters! The chicken wings were a delightful surprise—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. Whether as an appetizer or a shared dish, they were a hit at the table.

Read moreLooks inviting, but then unfortunately after you walk in you have to face their food and service... I normally do not post reviews, but this experience was so bad they motivated me to write this. The place acts as if it is a specialty beef place with somewhat American flair to it. It only acts as one, it isn't. So what exactly was wrong? Service &food! Service: was slow. I mean really slow - 15 min to take drinks order, 45 min to bring us wings and burgers (not fancy stakes!) on a normal night (not packed or anything ). Once we got them, the meat was RAW (as in COLD RAW), the serving of fries was pathetic and cold too... Upon returning the meal, the refire was EXACTLY THE SAME. The servers weren't even preteding to be moved by any of that: simple 'sorry to keep u waiting /sorry for our food/sorry for poor experience' would be a good start to compensate problems.../. I was hoping they might at least reflect this mess in the total bill. And they did - they charged us extra for items we did NOT order!!!... The bottom line: this place is a joke, and - sadly - not...
Read moreI was not as blown away as some of the other reviewers. My friend and I both had the hanger steaks and both were over cooked, which is rare in Prague as most places undercook the meat here. (Pardon the pun). There were only five other guests in the restaurant when we walked in so there was no excuse they were too busy. The steaks were flavorful and decent portions but a bit tough, possibly because they were cooked too much. Considering the steak alone was almost 1000 czks they were skimpy on the fries. Sauces were extra and missing the standard little bit of salad that’s so standard here, the plate looked empty and naked. Also service was lackluster. For these prices I’d expect the server to circle back a couple of times to check we were ok. Not this time. They had a shelf in the corner well stocked with condiments but I had to ask for ketchup, then later had to go find salt and pepper for myself when the waiter disappeared for some time. Altogether not a bad steak but I would definitely pick another spot like Botanic for a better meal service...
