AVOID !
THE WORST Valentine’s Day experience ever. It was catastrophic, so many people left, it was a simple menu with two options of starter and main for that special evening. I’m going to do a list :
no sense of priorities with people who came first, to be served first, long long lonnnng wait
drinks: forgetting orders, it’s a bar, they were not able to serve classic rum and coke, no cider either, we asked 4 times to get our drinks (they were sitting somewhere, the ice was totally melted when we got them), when asking the waitress which cocktails it was (we ordered few) she literally shrugged her shoulders and huffed because she had no idea, and didn’t really care. my fiancé doesn’t drink Prosecco, they struggled to serve him something instead of the “welcome” drink. Sometimes they called it proseco, sometimes champagne, again,… it’s a bar you need to call your alcohol by their real name.
food : they forgot bread to go with the goat cheese starter so no one actually ate the cheese, it was served with canned dices of beetroot. Our neighbours waited 30min with his starter, waiting for his wife to get hers as well. The main was okay, but at that point we just wanted food and leave. Hopefully we had a fun night because the other couples were experiencing the same nightmare. The dessert was suppose to be a crème brûlée. They served us defrosted industrial soggy cheesecake instead, with no choice. They did a special Valentine’s menu but actually didn’t get the dessert right. it was disgusting. Didn’t mention the many mistakes with dishes and customers. That was faaaaar from fine dining food AND experience but the expensive price was there !
location, the dome is a good idea but come on guys those crappy doors that slide up need some attention, waiters and customers struggled to open and close them. Sometimes the waiters were too lazy to close it, so they left it open, it was 6C outside. I guess it was part of the massive joke. The toilets door couldn’t lock properly, once you dry your hand with the paper towel, there was no bin. We had dirty cutlery on our table when we arrived. The same playlist music of 40min on repeat, when you wait a LOT, you have time to notice those kind of things. you could feel the tension in every customer’s eyes, desperate,… wondering what was wrong with the staff all night and thinking to have a Mc.Donald instead.
-staff : when we arrives one girl had a break down, they kind of blame her for the big mess around. A staff from downstairs came up to help (there were some many staff at the bar downstairs and they were struggling upstair with 4staff for 25customers) the upstair manager was so useless, ssoooo useless. He didn’t help his team, he was bragging around asking how was everything… but never carrying anything or helping in anyway. The young guy though, he saved the evening. It seems that he was the only one who cared. Massive thanks to him, we wanted to tip him but we absolutely didn’t want him to share because it was a full team of useless and unprofessional. The manager should be ashamed of himself, seriously. I told them it was pathetic and the fact that one staff is not doing her job as planned couldn’t excuse the whole situation. No one was using pen and paper for the order, it could help you guys. The waiters were wearing their purse during service.
At the end they gave us discount, I hope they did the same with everyone because the menu was 990kper person, for canned diced beetroot and industrial cheesecake. This place is full of tourists, the staff is probably changing all the time, so yes no one cares. It’s miserable. Honestly we had a good night because we were laughing at everything, with our neighbours about this very bad experience. I live in Prague and they were tourists hoping for a nice romantic diner and I felt ashamed about this situation.
Don’t go there, there is many other nice view and good bar...
Read moreThe only redeeming qualities of this restaurant are its picturesque setting and lovely views. Beyond that, our experience was an absolute nightmare.
We had a reservation for lunch, yet upon arrival, our table was not ready despite being the only customers there.
The drinks were fine, and the bartender seemed competent and friendly initially. However, it all went downhill from there.
Our waiter seemed utterly confused from the get-go, and despite confirming our order, it was evident that chaos was brewing and our concerns proved valid.
Forty-five minutes after ordering, we were informed that the duck pate we had ordered as starters would take an extremely long time to arrive. The waiter suggested alternatives, which we declined, opting to cancel the starters altogether and order an extra main course for a member of our party.
One hour thirty minutes passed before any food made its way to our table. We asked where our food was on multiple occasions, which in reply we received various conflicting excuses and time frames from different members of staff.
We understood that larger groups might experience delays and we were patient to begin with, however the lack of communication was inexcusable. We booked well in advance, and no warning was given upon arrival regarding additional wait times for large groups. The timing issues were only communicated to us after an initial significant wait, which is simply unacceptable.
When the food finally arrived, it was chaos. The duck pate we had cancelled miraculously appeared, while two of our ordered meals were nowhere to be found and additional items that we had not ordered were brought to the table. To make matters worse, everything arrived at once, resulting in mains sitting under the scorching sun while we ate our starters.
Attempting to rectify the situation, we requested to discuss the order and bill with the waitress. She proceeded to argue with us over the matter whist we were eating, creating an awful dining experience. It turns out that the order processed on their system was completely wrong, and even attempted to overcharge us for drinks we didn't have. We requested that the incorrect and missing items be removed from the bill, but the staff's attitude was appalling.
At this point we had not received the two missing meals and another 20 minutes passed before we were informed that they had been cancelled in the kitchen as we requested not to pay for them due to the order mistakes and appalling wait times. Eventually we received all the correct food but it was an absolute nightmare to get to that point! The food was okay but the terrible service superseded this and left us very frustrated and annoyed.
Despite multiple requests to speak with management, we were told no one was available except for the director, whom we never got to speak with. While we eventually received a discount and didn't pay for the incorrect meals, the overall experience was beyond disappointing considering we booked this venue following a recommendation.
In summary, this restaurant suffers from disorganization, untrained and rude staff, excessively long wait times, poor management, and a general lack of communication. Save yourself the trouble and avoid...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant on New Year’s Eve, having purchased their New Year’s menu. Based on an email we received, we expected an evening that included dinner, champagne, and music from a DJ.
When we arrived, we were shown to our bubble, which was made of cheap plastic. It was freezing inside, and the heater went out almost immediately. We had to wait half an hour for it to be turned back on, but even then, it made little difference—it remained uncomfortably cold throughout the evening. On top of that, the “door” to the bubble broke several times, making the situation even worse.
We were served tapas and champagne, but both were extremely disappointing. The champagne was very cheap, and the tapas tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge for far too long before being served. The quality was simply awful.
As for the so-called DJ, it turned out to just be a speaker playing bad techno music. The sound cut out several times during the evening, making the atmosphere even less enjoyable.
When midnight finally came, all the restaurant’s guests—regardless of whether they had paid extra for the bubbles or not—were allowed to gather on the rooftop. This meant they blocked parts of the view we had paid for.
To make matters worse, when we asked when our main course would be served, we were told there was no main course. Instead, there was a buffet downstairs, which we were never informed about. This meant we had to leave cold, hungry, and extremely disappointed—6,000 Czech crowns poorer.
All in all, it was a freezing, frustrating, overpriced experience with terrible food, a poor atmosphere, and awful...
