Sometimes you find yourself in the center of a city and just need something simple, filling, and affordable for lunch. As a tourist, it can be difficult to find such a place — which is why I want to recommend this canteen-style spot. This is not a Michelin-starred restaurant. You’ll need to grab a tray and order directly at the counter. There’s no English menu, and most of the guests are locals working nearby. But all the food is laid out in front of you, so you can simply point at what you want — and that works perfectly. It’s fast, reasonably tasty, and very cheap. If you get a soup, a main dish, and a drink, you’ll stay within €10 — or even less. For central Prague, that’s a very fair price. The food is good and matches what you pay for. There is a restaurant Apetit in the basement and there is kinda fast food place that is extremely popular with locals on the ground floor. Ready food on stalls, you come and just point with your finger what you want, if you don't speak the language, and you end up having good quality traditional czech food for about $8. I was really surprised how good traditional food there was and even more surprised if our dog was welcome inside without any hesitate. Its not "restaurant" but its called "Tácovka" and you go choose any food they have ready for that day fresh (really amazing).
