Nice location, a bit disturbing lightning but I guess it's a choice. Staff was all right by local standard, nothing less nothing more. We chose a starter and an omakaze for two and water. The starter was good, but it was the only highlight of the evening. The omakaze looked better than it tasted, only a couple of makis where somehow inspired, while the rest was at best so so. Lots of shrimps, and all of them quite chewy to be honest. For the price point they choose (right under CZK 1000) quite the underwhelming experience, both in quality and quantity. It didn't help me in my judgement the fact the I asked for tap water and they took the most expensive water bottle they had on the menu instead. In other areas of Prague you can actually get a meal for that bottle of water, but whatever, I can afford that, as well as I can afford not come back and not to recommend the place. What else? Yeah, sushi is usually expensive everywhere, and I don't expect cheap, but if I'm starting to pay a premium price as I did here I want to see...
Read moreThe best sushi take-out I have ever had, but also about 2x more expensive than any other take-out sushi I have ever had! We took the chefs choice for two and the quality of the sushi was evident even when eating it on the train. The flavours were amazingly balanced and we were very impressed by the quality of the ingredients. The edemame beans and mochi were great complements to the main dish. But we were a bit taken back by the price (taxes are not included when you order online!) and ended up spending ~60 eur for two on take-out sushi. I think next time we'll go for something cheaper to take on the train but this experience definitely had me wanting to go and eat at the restaurant to properly experience these fantastic flavours the way the...
Read moreWe finally made it to Made in Japan during our latest visit to Prague, and it has quickly become my new favourite (by far) in the city. I had the omakase which included 11pcs of sushi. Every piece was was outstanding. Plating was excellent, flavours were perfectly balanced, and the accompanying sake didn't hurt either. The dessert was 3 scoops of sorbet and really didn't live up to the luxurious theme of all the previous dishes. During dessert I also had a glass of Umeshu which was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend's dessert - the "chocolate soufle" - was fantastic. Service was not pretentious, and very accomodating.
We're definitely looking forward to heading back to Made in Japan during our next...
