Absolutely 5 stars!! This is our first visit to Prague, and wanted to experience some good Czech cuisine, and not at a beer pub. (Not that there is anything wrong with that!) We did some investigating, and decided on Triton. We were in the area, peeked in around 2, and were impressed with the ambiance and menu. Made reservations and went that same evening. We wanted a nice, upper scale dinner, and were totally blown away by the experience! We opted for the a la carte menu, with the Czech specialties. The bread alone, 3varieties with 3 different butters should have given us a clue to the quality of what was to follow. But that far exceeded our expectations! 3 of us had the veal, and 1 had the pigeon. The recommended wine was a perfect pair without breaking the bank. Again, what a fantastic dining treat! The veal, along with the dumpling, was superb. Pigeon - out of this world. Wine - perfect pair. Dessert - oh my! Chocolate torte, cheese board, and “mushrooms” - not the fungi, or maybe not what I have ever had, but it was a smoky, whiskey-sauced delight. Cheese board and chocolate torte over delivered as well. Service? Impeccable. No rushing, punctual, professional, perfectly describing every detail. Don’t miss this place for a fine...
Read moreWe browsed a lot of restaurants in Prague before our trip, and chose Triton to be our "main venue" for the evening - mostly because my wife loves seafood dishes, and due to my allergies she can't get many of those in our daily life.
I booked a table beforehand, and told them about our allergies. I was worried, because the main dish for the menu was sturgeon, and I thought it would be difficult to replace the main dish for a non-sea food diet.
My worries quickly vanished when we arrived at Triton. The staff was very understanding, and for the main course I received the very best pork belly dish I've ever tasted.
The food was amazing - my wife and I have been trying out different experimental and fine dining restaurants in Finland, and I am very sad to say that none of them can compete with what Triton has to offer. The price of the eight course tasting menu with wine pairings was around 450€, but it was definitely worth it. It may sound like a lot of money, but I can assure that you will get your money's worth - there were dishes in the menu that were so out-of-the-box that I can only wish I could come up with on my own.
If we're ever going back to Prague again, we'll be sure to book a table at...
Read moreThe food was nice. However we had some unpleasant issues with the restaurant upon arrival. I called in the morning to make a reservation at 7 and the restaurant confirmed the booking verbally. When we arrived at the restaurant, the service team said they didn’t have any record for our booking and claimed that no one had called the restaurant for reservation during the day. They said the restaurant was fully booked by a tourist group from Asia for the entire evening. Yet we could clearly see that besides from the group, there were also a couple of tables of locals dining there. There was even some tables available. I had to show the record of my phone calls to prove myself as the waiter was never going to believe me and was arguing against me with unnecessary denials. They eventually agreed to get us seated. Thirty minutes after we started our dinner, the group left, which meant the restaurant was clearly Not ‘fully booked for the...
