Jolene Bar — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Jolene, once a vibrant and lively nightclub, has unfortunately lost much of its former glory. As a regular visitor over the years, I've witnessed significant changes that have left me to decide not to come back.

First and foremost, the music scene has taken a turn for the worse. The energetic and diverse playlists that once attracted a wide range of partygoers have been replaced with monotonous and uninspiring beats. It's disappointing to see the lack of effort put into curating an engaging musical experience.

Moreover, the shift in the personnel's attitude has been disconcerting. In its atempt to create a left-wing safe space, the approach taken at Jolene often feels excessive and alienating, and the result is the direct opposite of fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

Upon entry, everyone is bombarded with questions about what it takes and means to be a "nice human", and how not to hurt anyone's feelings. While promoting respect is great, the extreme and very forced emphasis on it detracts from the carefree and enjoyable ambiance that once organically attracted a very diverse group of people.

It's regrettable to witness the decline of Jolene, as it used to be a hotspot for nightlife enthusiasts. I hope the management takes note of these concerns and finds a balance that allows the club to regain its former...

It's a sad tragedy indeed when a bar named after my favorite Dolly Parton song ends up being a bust.

The music is freaking awesome, and you just wanna come in and groove with the best of 'em the second you hear it.

But then you realize they've let in about 100 too many people, and you can't groove with the best of 'em, because the best of 'em are sardined in, just like you are. About 75% of the people in here are tourists, which isn't a terrible thing, but still worth mentioning.

This place was probably killer back when no one knew about it and it wasn't so full, or during the summer when the people who don't want to dance can loiter outside in the parking lot. But now...

I do not know about the place inside because the girl at the front would not let us in. After having waited a long que, we arrive to get in and she very agresively asked us if we knew what was going on tonight. I tried showing her the picture of the dj name who was playing but she said “you are taking to long and I do not have time for you, next”. Saying this they literally pushed us away and that was it. I know it must be hard to work in a bar under stressful conditions but I believe it is no way of treating people. So if I have to judge the place by their employees, I am sorry but do not even want...
