Tonight, I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Although this isn’t my first time in Denmark, it was my first time trying to relax in the evening at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the person managing the tables and taking orders was completely unprofessional.
I should mention that we are two young women, and we were treated inappropriately. My friend went to ask for a table for two ( there were a few available tables in front of the terrace), and I waited. When I saw that he was showing her the table next to me, I sat down until they arrived. When he saw me there, probably trying to make a joke, he said: “What are you doing there? Did anyone give you permission?” Although it was clear that I was with my friend, he didn’t bring me a menu. He gave one to my friend and then, again "jokingly", handed mine later.
We decided what to order, and when we mentioned two cocktails and (two desserts), he immediately said, “This place is for eating only, not for people who just want drinks.” We hadn’t even gotten to mention the dessert before he cut us off. It was never communicated beforehand that the place was strictly for dining.
While saying this, the waiter touched my friend’s face without her consent and spoke in a very imposing tone. We were shocked and didn’t know how to react. Afterward, he carried on with his work, we had to leave, as it seemed we were not allowed to stay and we were treated...
Read moreThe problem was not simply about where we were seated but about the extremely poor customer service. From the very beginning, the waitress was clearly overwhelmed and unable to handle the tables properly. Every decision had to go through the bald gentleman, who was not even courteous when we first approached him. He later said he would “try to find a solution,” but nothing ever happened—even after we waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
It should be clear to the management and staff that the customer is never asking for a favor when requesting a change of table. As paying guests, it is our right to decide whether we want to sit outside or inside, and we expect that request to be handled with respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The restaurant’s location is excellent, but it is evident that they do not provide enough staff to meet the demand and ensure good service. Instead of trying to justify the situation afterwards, they should focus on training their staff to truly prioritize...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I had our first dinner in Copenhagen here. We were fooled by the reviews on one Trip Advisor page which gave this restaurant 4.5 stars. We would not even give it 2 stars.
We ordered the burger and the fish & chips. The burger was bland, seemingly made from cheap buns and industrial "cheese". The fish & chips, instead of being a fillet, was cut in chunks. All breadcrumb and almost no fish in sight. Both came with a small portion of soggy fries. All of this was horrendously expensive.
This restaurant could have been redeemed had the service been friendly. Instead, we were ushered in by a very rude waiter. He pointed at a table: "Sit here" (without offering us a choice of tables), and refused to let me put my bag on a chair. He promised he would bring me another chair. We'll, it never came.
Had the food been palatable, we would have paid the price without any problem. But this is a profit-hungry establishment. AVOID...
