MØR is a restaurant located in the meat district Kødbyen within the hotel Scandic Kødbyen. The restaurant is spacious and decorated in meat decor, in line with the theme of the district it’s in. Here’s my five cents on the restaurant and our experience dining in it.
Food: The food is good. Steak was okay, but a little chewy (tenderloin). Getting the steak down is quintessential for a restaurant of this sort, so I expected the cut to be a little better. It was cooked as requested (medium rare), but was a little underwhelming and pricey in my opinion. The red wine sauce was interesting, and included tomatoes. I have yet to land on whether this was a good addition to the finished product, but it nevertheless surprised me.
The chicken was the star of the show. Juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. The «potatoes, potatoes, potatoes» did not came prepared as we expected. It was served lukewarm! Our server explained to us that it was supposed to be lukewarm. Is it because of the potato foam? I had more questions than answers after this gastronomical experience. All the items were also rather pricey, and I’d suggest serving the main course with one free side.
Service: Very good. Gonzalo (sorry if I am misspelling your name) met us in a warm and welcoming way. We’re usually very easy-going guests, and we felt that Gonzalo adapted to that. He was eager to extend our questions to the chef, and furthermore tried to understand our issues in a professional and courteous manner. It seemed like he had a genuine interest in the success of the restaurant and our experience within its four walls. It would be a three-star review if it wasn’t for his professionalism in lieu of the «critique».
I have to add that the bar next to the restaurant is the place to go if you want great cocktails. The bar manager (Shirlie, sorry if I’m totally butchering your name) is very knowledgeable and and a clearly competent bar manager. The selection of cocktails made by her...
Read moreThe food was ok but pretty overpriced and everything is an add on side order. Pretty bad and rude service to begin with. When we ordered through the website we decided what to eat with the menu on the same website. When we got to the restaurant and told the waiter what we decided and showed him on the restaurant website he just told us they didn’t have that menu anymore and that he wasn’t the IT guy. First and last time visiting MØR
1 month later: After acting on the restaurants offer to talk about our bad experience based on this review, we send an email to the requested address but after almost two weeks never received a reply. Perhaps they really do need an IT guy. So in conclusion both expensive, mediocre food, bad service and not technologically adequate for modern times…yet another...
Read moreDo not waste your time. Expensive restaurant for what it offers and very poor service. I ordered a lobster soup and my husband a pork dish. The pork was good, but my soup was disgusting, I couldn't eat it. The staff was totally indifferent and when I said my soup was awful they only said they were sorry (and obviously included in the bill). They didn't offer to exchange for another dish or anything that could remedy the fact that I didn't have dinner, probably because it was almost time for the restaurant to close. Unfortunately it is the only restaurant option in the hotel I am staying at, but my next meals will all be outside the...
