Masseria — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation, and not a single staff member acknowledged us. They walked past us several times, some almost bumping into us, without so much as a glance. We asked politely if we could sit down early or wait somewhere inside (the restaurant was completely empty at the time), but were told neither option was available.

When it was finally time to be seated, we were still left waiting another 15 minutes before anyone actually brought us to our table. The service didn’t improve from there. Everything was slow, from taking our order to getting our food.

What really left a bad taste was how the staff handled the end of our meal. With about 20 minutes left in our seating of 2 hours (with both delay and slow service) and some of us still eating, they came over and, in a rushed tone, asked if we were finished and told us we needed to wrap up, pay, and leave…

The whole experience gave the impression that they’re more interested in squeezing as many people through the door as possible than actually treating guests with care. Quite...

Tasty food, overpriced, poor service…

The food was good, the pizzettes were pretty small even taken into account it’s a pizzette and not a pizza, and the price vs size vs quality didn’t really line up.

When we came we wanted a table outside (appx 2 or of ~10 tables were taken), and was asked to wait to be seated as they had a number of reservations so not sure they could accommodate… the waiter then started serving food to other tables while we were waiting. Once the food had been served the waiter came back and said he had found us a table. We sat there for appx 50 min and literally no one else came to for an outside table during that time (thanks for the extra wait)…

Finally the waiter was really keen for us to have some water, like really keen, but we had just been out on a long walk so we need sugar, ordered 4 cokes and then saw in the menu that water was 20kr per person… glad I had my own bottle...

Way better value to be had at other places.

We had the focaccia witch was unacceptable, soggy and a little too dense. For 65kr it’s really poor quality - the sour butter was a nice addition tho. The squid was massively overpriced and too chewy, the ceviche was good tho. The carpaccio had some weird pesto salad under it, not what I expected- decent price tho. The gnocchetti was quite good although it might be a bit confusing to the average customer as we thought it’s was gnocchi and not pasta. Risotto was too small for the price and the fish tasted fishy. We also had 5 drinks and the homemade limoncello - all the drinks were expensive but I expected that because of the location. We also waited 50 minutes for the main courses and the staff did not check on us once…

Overall - nice food, overpriced, lousy staff. A good shot at being a nice restaurant but not...
