Let me be crystal clear: this isn't a dig at the workers. The people behind the counter are just following orders, doing their best. This is aimed straight at whoever runs this place, whoever designed this menu, and whoever thought they could charge premium prices for one of the most insulting meals I’ve ever had.

I walked into MAX Burgers thinking maybe it was one of those higher-end fast food joints. Scandinavian twist, eco-friendly branding — maybe they’ve reinvented the wheel. What I got instead felt like a psychological experiment in how far you can push people before they snap.

The fries came out grey, soft, and lifeless. No salt, no crunch, no texture — like they’d been cooked once, forgotten for hours, then zapped in a microwave by someone who hated me. They weren’t just cold. They were numb. Like something you'd find in the backseat of a broken-down taxi.

The burger? Jesus. The bun was damp — wet. The patty tasted like soy protein and cardboard had a child together, and it was raised without love. Every bite slid around like it was trying to escap just lukewarm meat paste held together by apathy.

And the milkshake — what even was that? It was thick, sure, but thick in the way spoiled milk gets when you leave it out overnight. The taste? A mix between artificial sweetener, foot sweat, and guilt. I took one sip and genuinely thought, I need to brush my teeth, immediately.

Also it was expensive. I paid more than I would at McDonald's — and McDonald’s isn’t great, but at least it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. At McDonald's, you know you’re eating factory food. MAX Burgers tries to dress it up, make it look clean, progressive, even ethical — but it’s just worse food in a nicer wrapper.

This wasn’t just a bad meal. It was a meal that made me feel stupid for buying it. I was very hungry and still could not eat it. Thats when you know its bad. 325 DKK for 2 burgers 😅😅😅😅😅😅

Also — it's located right in the central station. Perfect spot to scam tired, hungry tourists who don’t know any better. They see the branding, the clean setup, think it’s some premium fast food experience — and they get served overpriced slop that shouldn’t even be called food.

As a local, I made the mistake of trying it one night, thinking, “Can’t be that bad, right?” It was worse. Much worse.

I won’t step near that place again — not even out of curiosity....

I'm typically relaxed when coming here to eat after work. But this evening was absolutely pathetic. My chocolate milkshake wasn't at all made "thick" as they typically do. The first attempt tasted very liquid like not a milkshake consistency. Asked them to please remake it. I asked for the manager, again because he took the same cup and did absolutely nothing different. Mind you I'm not sitting down once it's made I'm still standing there because they've never ruined a shake before. Second time they didn't want to redo it. So I asked if I could get a juice instead. Didn't want to do it at all. At this point, this staff this evening is totally uncooperative and aren't acknowledging when something isn't made to the customers liking. I took a picture of the receipt so that the staff can understand, the staff as this time "is the most non cooperative" when something is made wrong. Mind you I returned the milkshake that was still full but was denied the chance to exchange for a typical juice instead. The manger who had a full beard(low cut, not fully grown out) was completely unwillingly when he sees the shake isn't made to it's natural standard which is "thick" not thin. Never coming back here, the one at Rådhuspladsen are far more consistent than this by a landslide. Mind the mask was finished with no drink, and they didn't care....

Hey Guys!! It’s me again today from Copenhagen, and like I am so shocked. After I have read the review I was really sceptical to go here, but we were soo hungry and maybe a little curious, so we agreed to just get small snack here and go else where. BUT BOY 😅 Let me just tell you that we also went for Another round. But now let’s talk about Max’s. STAFF - The staff was really amazing, everyone here was Really Nasty about the staff and about the way they treated people, but the same staff that people where hasty about, was so nice on us. The waiter was really polité and he wished everyone good meals and had nice smile on. Also he was working super (and I mean SUPER fast). So 5/5. FOOD - And now about food, we were really suprised about the taste of the fries, they were amazing!!! Really tasty, they were slim and with peels on, also I think they were prepared in cow oil, and because of this the flavour was spectacular!!! ♥️♥️ The portions were smaller but everything was so tasty that we didnt mind. Also they have these smoothies from fresh fruits that are just mind blowing! OVERALL - If you are hungry and somewhere near this spectacular fast food restaurant definitely go here !! Specially when you are from other countries...
