Sushi Shop Chamonix — Restaurant in Bonneville

Ok, let's set some expectations here folks. This is supermarket sushi, at best. They make all their sushi in advance, and leave them chilled in fridges - nothing is basically made to order. This means that the rice is COLD and LUMPY, not lukewarm and loose like it would be at an actual sushi restaurant. The fish is decent, not great, the tuna is relatively low grade. This is not a 4.5+ restaurant at all, I would say that it competes with the local Carrefour to be honest, so do not expect a sushi experience like you would be able to get in a big city.

They are nice in there though, and the prices are relatively low. But please know what you are getting...

Unfortunately, we chose this place because it was convenient - and that was a huge mistake. The food is as innovative as it is bad, but definitely not as innovative as the name of the restaurant ‘Sushi Shop’. While the fish itself wasn’t necessarily bad, they made sure to destroy it: one of the rolls had Doritos sprinkled on top as a garnish… you can’t make that up. The other one had scallion cream cheese like a New York bagel. This is the kind of place Gordon Ramsey would have...

Nice staff and atmosphere was ok.

The sushi however was disastrous. Disappointed with overall quality and taste. Sushi is drowned in sauces or mayonnaise. Hard to taste anything sushi related and on top of it, the food did not taste well. Really hard thing to achieve not tasting food even when drowning it with sauce.
