Read moreWe visited the Restaurant Au Dauphin for dinner yesterday and it was an ok experience. There was no queue so we were able to get a seat immediately and this is where the good news ends. The service was extremely poor with the staff turning up with the menu and not returning for a good 45mins to take the order. While waiting to place the order a several dishes turned up at ours which I presume was for other tables but incorrectly put under us. Another colleague turned up and took the order and the food arrived quickly after. The Flammkueche with bacon was good and the Alsatian meat stew was perfect with very tender meats assorted with carrots and potatoes. Paying the bill was again a nightmare as the same colleague came with the bill and the card machine but left without taking the payment. We saw her serving other tables for around 15mins all the while leaving the bill and the machine with me. Finally after 2 hours we were able to finish our dinner and leave the place.
The restaurant had massive queues by 7, not sure how much of it was caused by these unnecessary...

Dessert was apple tart and was good. Following this coffee was offered but no tea.
Overall, it was a rather disappointing dining experience and not one I would like to repeat.
Maybe because we were travelling as a group but it felt as if we were treated differently and was frustrating especially as the restaurant was...
