The service is horrible, we were thrown out after 20 min of waiting, because there was no food for dietary restrictions and we wanted to take only water and coffee. So restaurants are not allowed to serve only drinks? That was the excuse the waiter used. Maybe the restaurant is good but we didn't see the best side of it, so sorry, but only 1 star. *Since I cannot reply to the owner and put out a discussion, let me do it this way- Firstly, the waiter said to us this lie: "We don't have a license to sell drinks, we are a restaurant." If he would say to us "sorry, it's lunch peak time, we prefer serving food only" it would make a difference, but he chose to lie to us as if we had a cognitive impairment. Secondly, the waiter DID NOT tell us to go next door and he DID NOT accompany us out to the terrace, he didn't give a damn about us, we got up and left. Everything would be fine, if he would have told us right at the beginning you prefer to serve food over drinks, it could have saved us the time and unpleasantness of your establishment. But to lie to guests so they leave... And lastly the rating is explained in my review up, I cannot say if the food is good or not and worth the hype, I can only say that we were treated poorly, which I clearly stated. I give out fair and honest reviews, so I cannot let...

Tartee flambee was really good, among the best we had (and we only go to restaurants with good reviews). But I have to take one star off for the creme brulee, which the caramel was burned and tasted bitter and creme was more scrambled eggs. Didn't expect to receive creme brulee so bad in France, which is a big disappointment. Also, once you walk in, be prepared to be "slapped" by the smell of Munster cheese (much stronger smell then in other...

Recommended. Visited on a Monday lunchtime, near to closing but the hostess was welcoming nonetheless. The tarte flambees, their speciality, arrived quickly. I had the Traditionelle tarte flambees with schmeer (mix of cream and cheese), onions and bacon was delicious, perfect for a light lunch. I also ordered the cremant, again delicious and the cafe Alsacien which has a bit of a (good) kick. Warm service. Can’t think of any negatives...

After our tour in Strasbourg our friends wanted to try authentic Flammkuchen or tartes flambe. I found a restaurant that turned out to be very popular. They were kind enough to seat the 8 of us before they were even open. We had a Flammkuchen with(Hützele) Schmeer*, onions, Guanciale, juniper berries, pickled red onions, pea sprouts. It was light and perfect for 2 to share with a salad.
