This review is important for this business. I was first time in Berlin with my son on euro trip and we had one day in Berlin and found this restaurant. As soon as we enter, this guy with glasses ( Turkish accent ) welcome us, but as soon as, we told him we want to order special as they posted, ( Picture attached ) he became rude and treated us, very un professionally. It didnt end here. We asked about water, and he was started to tell me what water he used for cooking and they dont use water from tab, and in loud voice, and Russian couple next to the table were very surprised as well.
At the time of payment, he said he will take cash only, whereas I didnt have cash and asked I need credit card machine, and he didnt want to take payment so dont know what he did, and he kept saying his machine not working. Again couple on next table realized he is becoming very rude with me and I was showing patience and taking his garbage from his mouth, they asked him why he is pushing for cash whereas I dont have euro. I had cash in canadian dollars and pounds. when he saw they got involved then he used machine and my card went through, I posted picture as well.
On top of that he charged me 7.70 euro just for one water bottles so he can make some tips forcefully and he did not even gave me my reciept of transaction.
After finishing with him I went inside and asked for manager or owner, but he was not there, but other guys working were very nice. So be careful from this guy, with glasses and Turkish accent around 35 and above age. I have no idea how the owner had him in his team, in Berlin.
I will never go to such restaurant again. And I give lot of good reviews but I need to do this for the betterment of...
Read moreGood food but really bad service today.
I went there to watch the first EM game and it went well. The food was really good, the waiting time was acceptable. But today I went back there but with different experience. It was not so busy as the first day of EM but nobody sit us. After we sit ourselves, nobody bring us menu for around 15 minutes, and we asked one of the waitress and she didn't give us menu and told us to scan the menu on the table instead, which actually not so convenient for us. Since then, nobody come to us for another 10 minutes. We have to call several times until a waiter came to us, he was really nice and friendly. As I mentioned earlier, the food was nice, that's why we went back. Actually we planned to stay longer for dessert and coffee, but waiting on the table with our empty plates for around 25 minutes is quite unacceptable when everyone just passed us by and make us feel unseen. Even some waitresses argued in front of us about whose was our waiter because they know nothing about our table (obviously because they don't even ask or gave us any attention). At the end we decided to pay and leave (even have to call the waiter with louder voice several times until he noticed us). He was friendly but overall, the experience today was really bad because of...
Read moreWe had an excellent waiter here (shout out to Leon!) who was very fun and attentive (told some good stories too)... Had the kartoffelgnocchi which was my butter/potato/ pasta pillow heaven. Also tried some of the linguini and salmon which was pretty good (item on the menu right under what I ordered).
Note about the wait staff.... I see there are a lot of reviews on here talking about poor service, or being ignored by the waiters. From my German language class, we learned the restaurant culture in Germany is very different from the United States. In the U.S. the waiter/waitress comes to check on your table frequently to see if you need anything, but in Germany it is up to you to wave over staff to get refills, etc... Also, the pace isn't get in, eat, and get out, but much more laid back and relaxed (basically you get just enjoy the moment without being bothered too often). It's very different, but I kind of like it : ) I hope this helps any first time Germany travelers like myself. My first restaurant experience was awkward, but it became comfortable by the 3rd...
