This hotel has decent reviews, nice pictures. ||It all begins with disclaimers while you book. This hotel is in the middle of old town Chania, and has no parking. We double parked on the street to unload all the luggage. The hotel recommended parking at the East Ditch parking lot , which is free, but is a 10 minute walk. It is made further confusing because the Apple and google maps take you to the wrong address. This is because the street it is on bisects a pedestrian street named “Potie”. We had to ask a shop keeper how to find it after attempting to call the hotel 3 times and they failed to answer. ||For me, it’s just okay. We booked a “penthouse” room with private jacuzzi. For me that meant the top room, come to find out there are 4 in total. Additionally, the jacuzzi is nothing more than a jetted bathtub in the roof deck (which all the penthouses can view). ||The room is nice, but its quirks are weird. The platform bed (left side) makes it impossible to get out of bed without climbing down the bottom of the bed, as the platform is connected to the wall. Not favorable for going to the bathroom mid sleep. ||The shower/toilet area are set behind a large frosted glass door equipped with a privacy curtain(but operated from the outside). The curtain bulks up in the shower side (right) and makes the shower dark. And with no light installed above, the shower itself is dark. ||The technology, needs serious help. The AC controls require actual interference from staff to get to work properly, and even then have to be reset every time you leave the room. Needless to say, in Chania, which in the summer is 100 degrees means you will want the room cooled down when you return from walking around town. ||This room was $284 a night for us, and we truly thought we were getting a private hot tub room with a nice view. The view was fine, and at night when the city comes to light under sunset it’s nice to be in the center. ||Upon checkout they held our luggage graciously while we shopped. When we got back (in under 90|Minutes) I had left a redbull in the fridge, and they refused to retrieve saying the room belonged to another guest. Well check in is at 3pm. The request was made at 11:30. That seems off and in bad customer service.||Breakfast staff were a total delight. Bright, cheerful, accommodating, just what you want at that hour.||I hope this review helps, as that is the perspective it was...

Read moreStopped by here for dinner only at the restaurant, so I cannot comment on the rooms or the hotel itself besides the view and decor were really well done. The glass floors leading to the bathroom were a nice feature.
Overall, a terrible dining experience in a town full of options.
We made reservations here to celebrate our daughters birthday and were really excited to try it out and have a great experience.
Unfortunately, this restaurant did not hold up to the reviews.
The food we ordered was lack-luster and bland. I understood where they were trying to go with the more upscale dish presentations but they lacked flavor and the food itself did not shine through. We saw our waiter once at the beginning and never again after until we left, when he had a confused look on his face like "what happened?". The younger boy who was refilling water and cleaning up plates was more approachable than the waitstaff themselves.
The first course came out somewhat quickly but it took an hour and a half after the first course for the main course to come out and that only happened after I ended up getting up to take a walk with my daughter outside in the streets due to the delay. Nobody said sorry for the delay or why it took so long. Too bad that after the very long wait, the fish dishes that my wife and I ordered were overcooked and dry. I couldn't finish mine, it was that bad.
There were no good vibes going on. All of the diners were sitting around waiting for a non-attentive staff to hopefully grace them with their presence once they felt like it. Watching the servers walk around the bar area talking to each other and not checking on their tables is absurd for a higher end restaurant.
At the end, we walked out. No manager offered any type of compensation for the experience or said they were sorry, we paid the full price for this terrible service, not great food and they get a bad review from our family.
This place was just plain bad in terms of service and the food was just ok which made this dining experience awful.
We were in Kriti for 13 days, and this by far was the worst experience of the entire trip. So many other great options to choose from. Why come here...
