What started as a lovely evening in Oia at Feredini became very upsetting after the owner/manager threatened to call the police after we questioned our bill.
At the start of the evening we ordered a couple of cokes 330ml as advertised on their menu along with a bottle of wine. When the cokes came out they were 250ml bottles, we spoke with our waitress about this as we purchased four of these over the night. she was going to speak with the manager.
Then we ordered appetisers and one dish came out frozen in the centre, again we called the waitress and she had the issue rectified and a new one was bought out, no problem.
We ordered mains and as we were the last to be in the restaurant we asked for the bill. The waitress bought out the bill and the cokes were the full price for the smaller bottles which we questioned to which there was a no care attitude about it just pay the bill and then asked if we would like to tip on top of this.
The final act was when the waitress then knocked over a full glass of red wine all over my husband on his pants and $700 new boots and splashes over a white shirt.
Oh well your problem not theirs as far as they were concerned. I asked for the bill to be reviewed in light of these issues but the owner/manager came up to ask what the issue was and after I explained that we felt there should be an adjustment to our bill she promptly advised that she will call the police. I asked why and she said because we were refusing to pay. We most definitely did not refuse to pay we just asked for a reduction.
As we were tourists we did not have the confidence that there would not be issues coming our way so paid the bill and left. Obviously a tact taken by the restaurant to intimidate tourists into paying and not complaining about service/food. Total bill 200 euro
Very disappointed to have our evening ruined as we were having a great time. Beware if you eat here, dine at your own peril as the owner/manager was very aggressive from the get go and not prepared to compromise.
I will never recommend to...
Read moreFeredini is a really good restaurant in Oia Santorini, with focus on traditional Greek food. And the chef Kostas Dimitriadis can do amazing thing in the kitchen. He takes the traditional produces, courses and tastes from the Greek kitchen and create new fantastic dishes.
Our visit at Feredini yesterday was really special when Kostas made a 6 course tasting menu for us, all with fresh produces from the sea. Starting with the traditional Prawn Saganaki broken down in separate pieces, continuing with a Paella made Greek as a risotto and using locally fresh seafood. Then two fantastic dishes with fish, before a 2-course dessert with Lemmon pie and a Greek version of Italian Pana Cotta, both broken down and served in a delicious way.
This was a special made dinner for us, but it shows the potentials and the quality of the chef.
They need to work on their wine recommendations for their couces and maybe offer a special wine menu for a tasting menu like this.
But overall, this is one of the best food experience i've had on this island. I highly...
Read moreIf you are in Oia this is a MUST. AMAZING!!! View is unbelievable, right in front of the ocean and the mountains. The quality of the food was magnificent. We had prawns with squid ink pasta and greek salad, they were unique! The pasta was in tinny balls and the prawns were perfectly cooked, they would melt inside the mouth. We asked the waiter for the best desserts and he brought us a chocolate + berries one and one with pistachios and ice cream. Totally recommend! Service is amazing, very nice, professional and charismatic...
