Ok you guys, the ambience and the food was amazing! We were seated pretty quickly since it was a Tuesday night. However, I heard that over the weekend there is a long line to enter the establishment. We ordered a charcuterie board which was on point. I got myself a tortilla soup, but that was disappointing. There wasn’t any chicken in it, hardly any tortilla. It was mostly tomato purée soup with diced avocado. Dinner option was the lomito (did I spell is right?) aka meat with hot sauce and potatoes. Goodddd!!! They also served slices of bread. As far as drinks go, I got myself a pitcher of sangria. Come on you guys, you should try it out. It was $12US!! Let’s get real, we don’t pay those prices in the US. Not in NY! It was not too strong and not too sweet. The fruits made it extra delicious. I asked if we can take a pitcher to go & the waiter was shocked that I even asked. He said no one has ever asked that before 💀😂. I made sure I took some for the Airbnb. The waiter was cool/very attentive. Excellent customer service! I’m actually going back to get their croissants bc I heard they are the bomb! Let’s see what...

Read moreI brought friends who are moving to Antigua and I had El Viejo Café on my list of places to recommend and visit. I had told my friends about your famous “pepitos” and wanted her to try them. We were planning to order lunch, and a pepito so my friends, who are new residents in town, could try it. We were told we were not allowed to order because of policy. My friends could not understand why they couldn’t try and pay for an item that is on your menu just because you don’t want people to buy a cheap sandwich and eat it at the restaurant. This policy excludes people who may only be able to afford a pepito vs. those that will obviously spend and consume more from the regular menu. Unbelievable!! I never thought about the possible reasons behind this policy. My friends told me they will not support or patronize a restaurant/establishment whose customer service is so bleak and policies make little sense and keeps (intentionally or unintentionally)...
