I visited this location at 9 AM today. Since I enjoy Starbucks and was staying at a nearby hotel, I decided to go there for breakfast. Without a doubt, it was the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a Starbucks anywhere in the world. Starbucks is known for providing consistent quality and service worldwide, but this place was the worst.
There were only four tables occupied in the spacious café, including ours, as it was still morning. We ordered four pastries and three drinks and waited. After waiting for quite some time, I noticed that our food had already been placed on the counter. My husband and I went to collect it and asked why we weren’t called. However, the staff member was standing far away on the other side, chatting with a colleague with her arms crossed and made no attempt to come closer.
It was at that moment that I first realized the service here was far from satisfactory. I asked why we weren’t called when our order was ready, as that’s the norm at Starbucks, but we didn’t receive any response. Both the coffee and pastries had gone cold, making for a very unpleasant experience.
As we were leaving the store, I mentioned that I would be leaving a review. When I brought up the Google review, the staff raised their voice and claimed they had called us three times. The café was very quiet, and I’d like to ask whether those calls were genuinely meant to inform customers. If you quietly mumble the orders while placing the food, whose fault is it if the customer doesn’t hear? Then they said they were tired from the morning shift and yelled an apology at us. I’ve never seen someone shout while apologizing before. They also said they didn’t care whether I left a review or not, so here I am leaving one. Don’t worry—I won’t expect any attention from you.
I would like to add a few more points:
To the employee who shouted at me while saying, "Do whatever you want": If working the morning shift is too hard for you, and you end up taking it out on customers, I suggest you change your working hours. Despite this negative experience, I sincerely hope that if you ever travel to my country or anywhere else, you won’t have to go through what I did today. My memory of Hungary is now deeply tainted, and my 10-year-old son will also remember Hungary as the place where you shouted at us.
To the store owner: Your Starbucks is located in one of the best spots in Hungary, yet the service might be the worst. I believe it’s time for a refresher course in Starbucks' global standard of service training. This was the first time I’ve had such an...
Read moreGood ol' Starbucks! Always reliable. No matter what country you're in, it always provides a sense of familiarity. Can always count on Starbucks to supply my phone charging and wifi needs. I know Starbucks will always have a bathroom I can use as well, and if I'm hungry, I can count on Starbucks for good food when I'm not sure where to eat and don't feel like searching for or experimenting with something new. The Hungarian menu is different from the American one, which I liked a lot for the variety. The menu items themsleves may be different, but the quality is always the same. Customer service is always great too!
Edited: My first review, above, was from last Summer, 2021. I went to the same Starbucks yesterday, on March 23rd 2022, and was disappointed. I don't know if I just haven't noticed this before because I had nothing to compare too, or if their prices went up since last summer, but everything is ridiculously overpriced. Hot tea cost 1090 Ft, which is just hot water and a single tea bag. I can buy a whole box of tea bags from the store for that money. And their bathroom was really disgusting. I took off 2 stars for that. Before, this was a place where I would gladly come, and bring my friends, but I was just so disappointed in my last visit, that I would think twice before coming or bringing...
Read moreMy recent visit to Starbucks wasn’t quite up to the brand’s usual standards. I understand it was a busy day, but the staff seemed a bit disorganized. The popular Pumpkin Latte wasn’t available, even though it was advertised everywhere, which was disappointing.
The waiting area could also use some improvement. Orders are called out by name, but the area feels chaotic, leading to confusion and potential mix-ups between customers. Additionally, the toilets were unclean, which is something that could be easily improved with more regular attention to cleanliness.
Outside seating felt somewhat neglected as well. There are no signs indicating that it’s self-service, and it would be helpful to have waste bins available for disposing of cups. With no staff cleaning tables during busy times, the area can look quite messy, which isn’t very welcoming.
Overall, as a company that promotes sustainability and eco-friendliness, I expected more alignment with this vision in terms of cleanliness and organization. Improvements in these areas could make for a much...
