I never heard of the place until my partner saw it on social media and booked a table for four. Set menu with basically 3 options for €30. Steak dinner at that, so I was interested to try it and see how a steak dinner to Dublin could be done in the current extortionate prices era for only €30. 4 pm on a Saturday. The place was busy, which I took as a good sign. Showed to our tables immediately. Furniture is of a cheap diner style with odd sets of chairs and tables. I remind myself it's a €30 dinner to keep expectations low. Wall art and decor is very good. Bit slow taking our order as other tables arriving after us got seen to first. Anyway, we got seen to moderately quickly. There's a set menu, so it's steak or chicken with a choice of sauces, and everything else is set at garlic bread, fries, small basic side salad, and profiteroles and choc sauce. Drinks are separate. Garlic bread arrived by a waitress who just walked around with a huge tray dishing out baskets of garlic breads to everyone who's newly arrived. Garlic was delightful along with the dip with it. Steak dinners arrive shortly after that on a bed of skinny frie chips. As it's a set simple menu the kitchen is obviously efficient at knocking out the orders fast, which is great. 10oz striplion Steaks had a nice sear on them. Mine was medium as ordered, but my partners was more well done than medium so she was a bit disappointed. Steak quality was fine not bad at all but not the best steak I've had either. Again, I am reminding ourselves it's a €30 3 course steak dinner. Garlic butter I got with the streak was nice too. It's heart attack city but look if your in a steakhouse you've committed to it already. I asked for more fries as it states that bottomless fries are on offer on the menu and a top tip here is order them when you get your food because the place is busy so asking for them when you still have some steak left could mean by the time they arrive your Steaks cold. 👍. The dessert was nice simple and little enough, nothing amazing. I got a delicious cocktail too which was extra to the €30 for dinner. Overall, I really enjoyed it for the price bracket it's in and in Dublin city centre to boot it's as best a bargain steak dinner you'll ever get. Are there better steakhouses in Dublin with better food, staff, drink and atmosphere yes 100% but not for €30 and once you understand the difference in pricing you understand what to expect for the money. This place ain't fancy dinning its a bit rough and already and knocking out fast cheap steak dinners. On a budget it's hard to go wrong here. 5 stars for what it was at the price it was. I'd recommend it.

We found Bouef and Frites, after a lunch spot we wanted to try nearby didn't work out. My husband, daughter (in a stroller, who we were able to leave in there and they were able to accommodate), and I stopped in on a Saturday at around 2 PM. Even for a late lunch, there were still a good amount of people dining there. There are only four things on their menu, which I like. It helps with the decision-making process. There's a steak menu with a 7 oz prime Irish filet or 10 oz prime Irish striploin, for €29, and there is a chicken menu with an Irish chargrilled half chicken or a chargrilled peri peri half chicken, for €25.95. Each menu item comes with a sauce, a Caesar salad, bottomless garlic baguettes, and bottomless frites, and profiteroles with a warm chocolate sauce for dessert. And with the word, 'Bouef' in the restaurant name, you gotta get the steak. So we had one of each of the steaks. Both were good but the filet was more tender than the striploin. The bread is good but very buttery so although it was bottomless, we didn't get another order. The 'Caesar' salad was made with a spring mix/arugula as opposed to romaine, which I wasn't mad it. With such a heavy meal, you need some greens to balance it out. In fact, I wished the greens were bottomless. I enjoyed the fries as well, which were seasoned with Maldon salt and their 'boeuf seasoning', which had a kick to it and reminded me of Cajun fries. I didn't care for the profiteroles, which just tasted like supermarket freezer section cream puffs. Overall, it was a good meal and a great deal. I do wish they could add one more menu item, and that would be beef tartare, which I think could be very fitting for their restaurant. I'd recommend this spot if you're looking to try some good ole' Irish beef.

On a trip to Dublin, my cousins had heard good things about this place so when I came to town they brought me here. As an American, you have to understand the rules of making reservations in Ireland and Europe as a formality, so just make sure you book a spot ahead of arrival. The space and design are absolutely perfect and I had no idea it was going to be so charming inside. The interior is a mix of modern art, living wallscapes and plenty of natural light. My favorite was the rooftop bathroom with skylights in each stall and tiles floors. Following up our first drink at Nolita a few blocks away 20 min prior, I had another gin and tonic: This time with Hendricks gin and Fever Tree Elderberry tonic and look how big the drink is! I felt modern and chic in here, the service was exemplary. As an American, I wondered if we would feel rushed so they could seat the next appt but not at all. My younger teenage cousins also felt comfortable in here and the only background noise is other couples and families enjoying their meals and experience here. I saw a table of 20 clearly having their Sunday Family Dinner here so that should be a testament to the establishment. As far as the food, my steak was just okay. I was a bit disappointed as I know Irish steak is healthier than USDA. The portion was small and tough even though it was cooked medium. Also, I wasn't aware they don't use steak sauces like A1 so just be aware of that. The garlic butter is going to be a little thick as opposed to melted as well. But overall, I'd go back for the Piri Piri chicken because it was a HUGE portion that they ordered and was definitely a hit with the kids. It's just funny to see people eat french fries with forks over here lol.

Attended yesterday for a friend's birthday and I left very concerned for treatment of staff. At the end of our meal we were asked by our server to please give a review and mention their name as the amount of reviews with their names determines how many hours of work they get. It did not sit well with us. I understand the concept of incentive with staff but holding their work hours over them based on reviews is a disgrace. Upon leaving we asked how many reviews they needed and they said 30 a week. I believe this restaurant is using the emotional blackmail of "if I don't give a good review that person won't get work hours" to increase their good reviews. So know that the reviews on here are possibly higher than they should be based on this. In this day and age staff shouldn't be worrying about whether or not they will be getting enough hours on work based of reviews.

Food: steak was lovely, I got fillet medium cooked and it was perfectly cooked. Peppercorn sauce was lovely and chips were frozen chips but for the price I pay I'm not expecting anything more so this is not a complaint. Garlic bread is delish. Profiteroles were a let down. I did expect them to be frozen but the cream inside was flavourless and watery. The chocolate sauce tasted like icing sugar. Not for me but my husband enjoyed them.

Atmosphere: it is very cramped (our table was upstairs, i dont know if downstairs reflected same). They want to fit in as many patrons as possible and you can tell this by the seats. Back of my seat had about a 2 inch space from the back of the seat behind me. When one person wanted to get out everyone had to move. We arrived a half hour before our time and were sent to the bar area upstairs. It had plates of half eaten food behind it for the whole time we sat there. Nobody cleaned it up. Some of our party arrived after us but we're refused to join us until our exact dining time. Sitting at a bar knowing your company is not allowed join you yet is not nice.

Service: obviously the staff are under pressure to give the best service based as mentioned before. We did find drinks were slow to come to table and often times we had to ask more than once for them. I feel this is the bar staff issue and not the servers based on my 30 minutes at the bar watching them. The servers were very nice and offered plenty of bread, chips. I worry about the stress they work under.

I would not return. I should be leaving a restaurant feeling happy at having a good experience but I felt feeling sorry for the staff working there and worrying about the type of contracts/pressure...

Overall the food and drinks were delicious. I got the rosemary half chicken which was delicious and my boyfriend got the steak which was rather dry but the flavors were there. Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. I do not normally get frustrated, as I know that customer service especially in the dining industry can be rather taxing however, my partner and I received hardly any service compared to everyone else in the restaurant. We had ordered both tasting trays, the first one came quickly but the second one we did not receive. We had waited 25 mins for the server to finally come up to us and ask us how things were and we told them that we had not received our second tray, it seemed they forgot about it which wasn’t much of a big deal as mistakes happen. Later we had finished our food, nobody had asked us if we wanted any more fries for the bottomless fries so we never received more fries. Finally we got our dessert which was just handed to us without a word whereas everyone around us was asked if they were ready for dessert or if they wanted more fries. Where I became really upset was when we were waiting for our bill. We waited for an HOUR before we received our bill and we had asked twice for it, each time the waiter acknowledged us but never got us our bill. It wasn’t busy during that time either, there was only about 3 tables on the upper floor and the staff was standing around the bar talking with each other while we waited for any form of service. There was a couple that sat beside us and had gotten there after we had finished our food and they had gotten their dessert and bill before we did. When we finally received our bill, we were hungry again and we just wanted to get out of the restaurant. As stated before, the food was good but the service in simple...
