Horrible experience!!! Terrible service!! Don’t go here if you value your time and money!! My boyfriend booked us a table for my birthday and when we got there we were herded downstairs where they first of all couldn’t find his booking and then rudely asked when we booked it (as if that mattered in anyway as we had a booking confirmation). The guy there then told us that he was busy downstairs (it was literally empty) and that we could either sit at the bar or go upstairs. Giving them the benefit of the doubt we went upstairs - here is where it went downhill. The downstairs and upstairs have not communicated at all and the severs upstairs were not informed of us coming up or the fact that it was my birthday and we wanted to make it special. They firstly tried shoving us into a table right by the toilets and the walkway then they offered us a table squished into a corner with 6 other tables around and only when we threatened to walk did they seem to wake up. They offered us a four seater table by the window and said “we’ll separate it but if someone comes in we’ll sit them next to you” keep in mind that the distance between the tables was about 5 cm - they might as well Be sitting in my lap at that point. But fine whatever we sat down and there was no apologies from the waiters of the terrible service, the fact that they lost our booking or the fact that they have essentially ruined the birthday experience for me. At that point we decided to walk - without eating - and the server looked so annoyed and angry like it was our fault that they failed as a restaurant??? No sympathy from them at all so we knew we made the right choice when we decided to walk and instead went to La Caverna (another cave named restaurant that is 10000x better than this place) where they actually appreciate their customers. If I could give it negative stars I would - they ruined the night and my birthday so yeah in...

Read moreWe wen to La Cave for the wine tasting event ( I got a voucher as a gift). The even itself was fun, informative. The presenter, Gerard, is a pro and knows what he is talking about and made it quite entertaining for the audience. The decor of the place, however, is horrendous. I was shocked that this kind of place exists in the heart of Dublin. First of all, the light in the room where we had wine tasting looked like at the hospital, the decor both in this room and in the basement where we had the dinner, consisted of endless old clutter, made the place look stuffy and not something I would even chose if it wasn't for the gift vouchers. I had the fish of the day for dinner which was fresh and nicely cooked. The side veg were barely warm, which was disappoiting. My partner ordered braised lamb which was bland and the waiter struggled with the advise on the matching wine. Overall, the service was friendly. We won't be coming back, despite the fact that we thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting event (thanks...
