Just off O'Connell Street, great little place but not little at all. A favourite with local Irish and tourists alike, traditional Irish pub with traditional Irish food (excellent by the way) and live Irish music every night. Love this place, five star always ❤️ Had the catch of the day, pan fried salmon, tender stem broccoli and mash with a garlic and lemon sauce, oh my, I'd marry the chef here... Today, I went for the swordfish and courgette with baby spinach, absolutely unreal, the photos don't do the food justice here. Prawn linguine today was absolutely delicious, if I hadn't been sitting here I would have licked the plate, oh wow... Fishcakes today with capers and salad in a lemon and garlic sauce, new to the menu and definitely a keeper ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beetroot and chicken salad on Saturday was amazing, little pieces of orange just topped it up to excite the taste buds to unreal, absolutely delicious level. I've said it many times that the food here is excellent and I still get surprised, five star always ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was lovely in here. I drink malibu and there was none, that is my only criticism of the place. We went in twice over two days and didn't realise they did food on the first day until we were leaving back to the hotel. On the second day I ordered burger and chips, my hubby ordered the scampi and chips. Hubby said the little pot of sauce that came with his was phenomenal. And the scampi and chips were pretty special too. I am quite fussy with sauce and pickles so I asked for my burger to come with no sauce or pickles. This was no problem at all, and mine was so nice I inhaled it. The chips were cut with little grooves in them its hard to explain, but if you were a sauce eater they would be good to scoop up the sauce or gravy etc. The bar was a little quiet when we were in there, I think that maybe if the tables were made up with cutlery etc it would be more obvious that the food was on offer. This bar is a real hidden gem, and I would love to see it packed out with diners, as I loved it!!

OK the First mistake we made was walking in even when we saw it changed, It's Name from Madigans to Mooneys. Second was we both ordered the fish 0/10 fish was under cooked soggy batter, I'm nearly positive it was frozen, not freshly prepared. The staff were friendly and Drink 🍸 nice. Unfortunately, I would definitely never eat there again. The toilets were in need of a clean, maybe not done from night before the benefit of the doubt 🤔 we were there at around 2 o'clock last Sunday €16.95 each for a meal we couldn't eat. We left as soon as we finished our drinks.

Awful considering businesses have shut down in this country due to the hit of Covid economics, it's sad to see such rotten treatment of the public by staff here. Female and male staff member refusing to serve a man because the female barmaid decided she just didn't want to. I seen and heard everything, this man was very polite, only asked for a pint, The bar maid said she would be back in a moment. When she came back Brian called her again, she then shouted at this man, so loud that the entire pub heard her. "THAT'S IT! IM NOT SERVING YOU, GET OUT!" X4. The man was clearly surprised, as was I. It was my first and last time at this place. Toilets are filthy, water everywhere, with no locks on the doors, so no privacy. Disgraceful with Monkey pox going around etc. It was also €4 for a small, stilled bottle of water. I was never asked if I would like ice, just given it. I could of gotten three large bottles for less elsewhere. It was clear from the offset that this pub has it's regulars at the bar, as the male and female staff members where all the talk to them. Surely one could clean the toilets instead if picking fights and gossiping. That man tried to get an answer as to why he was spoken to so rudely, the barmaid refused to speak to him, and her make counterpart just kept back her up by saying " She just doesn't have to". This man deserves an apology for being treated so nasty...
