Plunkets — Restaurant in Dublin

I am a guide dog handler and was appalled that a manager thought that it was appropriate to insist that we sit at the back because I have a Guide Dog.

When I chose a suitable table near the front, he still wanted us to go to a table at the back away from other customers, my dog sat between my feet the entire meal and was good.

Because of his insistence that because I have a guide dog we must sit at the back, it was really disappointing that these situations still arise where people with disabilities are hidden away and segregated from other customers.

It soured what was a good meal, and our waitress (Chloe) was polite and courteous, she sighted guided me to the bathroom when I needed to use the facilities and aided me returning to my table

.The manager (Alfredo) really needs some disability awareness training and I will be contacting guide dogs to follow up.

Really saddened that in 2022, this attitude still prevails, the manager appeared to have little knowledge of guide dog legislation and little disability awareness

I don’t want to be hidden or excluded because I am a guide dog handler, she is there to promote my independence...

Myself and my friend returned to the W.Plunket Pub last Saturday having had really good food and drinks there in the past. Firstly I cannot fault the floor staff, they were polite, efficient and extremly apologetic when we complained about our food and drinks!Not their fault! The food was horrible. Under cooked Springrolls, miserable portion of just about edible Calamari and overcooked soggy chips. We ordered two of the same cocktails( tropical spritz i think they were called) It was the most repulsive mixture i have ever tasted and im not fussy with alcohol!
