SUPERB pizza, horrible service. We were looking for Napoletana style pizza (our favorite) and found this place through its good reviews. We came away with mixed feelings. The pizza was probably tied for our favorite during our 2-week stay in Italy - truly excellent. However the service was very unfriendly - and seemed especially so towards English-speaking tourists. Our first waitress barely acknowledged our presence, and twice when I politely asked her a direct question she just gave an angry look, turned her back and walked away. A manager or owner walked by and I waived to get his attention and he just said "English?" and I said yes. I thought he meant that he was going to bring menus in English but instead he brought us a different waiter. That guy was MUCH nicer and more helpful, but the only problem was that his section was on the opposite side of the restaurant so we didn't see him often after he took our order. In the end, we absolutely loved the pizza and it really made up for a bad start when we almost left in frustration. So we were very glad we stayed and had one of our best meals in Rome, but just know if you go that the service...
Read morein our last day in Rome we visited this palce because it was close to us We ordered only one pizza for 2 because we weren't that hungry , one cappuccino and coke . this is the seventh place we ate pizza or pasta and it was the worst.
Pizza not crunchy at all!! too much moisture on dough , the ham fall too easy from pizza making it too hard to eat and the taste was really bad... And I'm 100% serious.
Anyway, pizza came very very fast, like it was already made and just put it in the oven Cappuccino was not hot at all....at most warm. Taste: good to very good Coke to alluminium can 3.5 euro ...pricy?i don't know just saying
At the end when we paid we asked why there's and extra charge on our check called "CUPERTO" and the waiter was very superior/arrogant in his answer . We usually leave tips to waiters everywhere but this place seems like it's "forcing" you to pay some extra fees without warning you before
Not sure if only our pizza it's like this or just our taste doesn't match with this place , but my honest opinion the pizza is just average at most. at least...
Read moreFantastic, affordable pizza served in a lovely, no-frills establishment a few blocks away from the Spanish Steps! I visited Pizza Re for a casual dinner after seeing it on a list of good budget-friendly eats in Rome, and they absolutely delivered on that promise. My friend and I split a mushroom pizza and salad, and both were fantastic. The salad was super fresh and simple -- everything you want in a good starter salad.
The pizza was outstanding; the dough was perfectly thin and just slightly chewy, with a great crispy and charred exterior. The ends of the slices were nice and fluffy, and each piece had the perfect ratio of dough, sauce, and cheese. The sauce was super fresh and savory, with tangy, sweet, and herby undertones. I do wish that they had a few more mushrooms, as there were several slices that didn't get any, but it was an incredible meal.
It's a pretty popular spot so it can get pretty crowded, but the staff does an outstanding job juggling all the tables. Service is attentive and quick, and the food comes out...
