Worse chinese restaurant we ever tried, simply a tourist trap. We went there last night as we didn't have time to go elsewhere and thought decent Chinese food would be a safe bet. We couldn't have been more wrong. Customer service is none existent, after waiting by the door for a few minutes, we had to ask one of the guys who was having a casual conversation with a colleague to come and help us. Eventually, we sat down, and the menu is only available in Italian, which I completely appreciate being in Italy. We managed to figure out what we like to order and placed our order, thinking we know what we are getting as we have tried Chinese cuisine in a few countries and have always been either ok or pleased with our choice. Yet in here, we regretted it as soon as we received our soup, which meant to have crab meat and asparagus in it. We only had 4 chunks of asparagus and a few shreds of crab meat with broth. It only got worse when our mains started to arrive, our fruit of sea noodle dish had 3 not even fresh prices of prawn and 3 chunks of crab meat ,(in the photo it showed to have everything, proper fruit of the sea dish) and our number 54 which meant to have meat, we barely could find crumbs of mince pork, up to the extend that we did ask the waiter to fins out where the meat is in this dish, after searching for it, she replied: here you are sir, there is mince pork in here. Even at the end, they added an additional £2 pp for service. Avoid or you'll be...
Read moreDon't listen to the negative reviews. Their idea of good Chinese food is Master Wok at the mall.... These people think Oliver Garden is real Italian food (until they came here). Also, they bring the number rating down from what it should be for anyone that knows real Chinese food.
Anyway, we were curious what Chinese food would be in Italy and joked about going. We had time before our train and ordered the fried rice of Asia (that's what it's called) and beef lomein to go to see how it was. Both were very good and very fresh. It was on the upper end of Chinese food I've had including some higher end places and Chinatown at home.
For the complaints about it being expensive, for this level of quality it is actually cheap and for Chinese food in general it is fairly priced especially knowing this is in Italy and they give you good portions. This is not the quality of your corner Chinese restaurant with general tso's chicken and mediocre fried rice but the quality of a higher end Chinese restaurant using higher quality ingredients. The meat, eggs, vegetables, rice and noodles were very fresh and tender and it had a good balance of flavor.
Last, the staff I met were very polite, friendly and prompt, but I only had take out.
Overall, go get Chinese food in Italy as it gets a big...
Read moreDuring my recent trip to Venice, I had the pleasure of dining at Ristorante Sushi Venezia - Orient Express, located conveniently near Rio Terà Lista di Spagna. It was a refreshing blend of Asian cuisine that offered both sushi and Chinese-inspired dishes.
I started with the Pollo Agrodolce (sweet and sour chicken), which was crispy, with a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavors, paired with fresh vegetables and pineapple. The portion was generous, making it a satisfying dish for a main course.
Next, I had a selection of sushi and sashimi, focusing mainly on the salmon dishes. The Nigiri Salmone was fresh and buttery, and the Temaki Salmone (hand roll) had a delightful crunch, wrapped perfectly in seaweed. The Tataki di Salmone, lightly seared and served with sesame seeds, was another standout dish—flavorful and beautifully presented on a bed of fresh arugula.
In terms of service, the staff was attentive and friendly. I appreciated the promptness of the food delivery and the cleanliness of the establishment.
Overall, for a total of €35, the meal was well worth the price considering the quality of the food and the location in the heart of Venice. If you’re in the mood for sushi or a fusion of Asian flavors, this restaurant is...
