Ristorante Arche — Restaurant in Verona

Save yourself, run away! If I could give a 0 I would... We arrived following the high reviews and oh boy! I'm not sure who was drunk enough to give this place more than 2 stars. We ordered the poached egg starter, and then the risotto and the gnocchi with squid ink (which I already ate and loved in Venice). The starter was tasteless... I had nothing good to say about it. The risotto was too sour to eat, suspiciously made with low quality wine? I would have salted it with the Parmigiano but we had a dead fly in it (we told the waiter, he couldn't care less about it), the other gnocchi dish was inedible, maybe the worst dish I've ever had (and oh boy, I had some), we couldn't eat it (yep, that bad). We ended up paying a full price because we were not offered any compansation, not even for the dish we didn't eat (and we said that we did not like it) and we were so disappointed that we just wanted to run away from this horrendous meal (luckily it isn't our last in Italy and there's time left to compensate). Bottom line? Wouldn't eat there if it was the last...

Maria and her team, especially the kitchen staff and our server Roberto, did a fantastic job. The food was delicious, the service welcoming, warm and interested in our well-being. The location of Ristorante Arche is also perfect, as it is central, but calm. The temperature inside was ideal to relax and enjoy the wonderful flavors of our dishes. Even accommodating special requests (we changed the type of pasta) and leting us share a portion (served on two seperate plates) was a detail to notice. Furthermore, we also received detailed explanations of the different dishes on the menu. Our pasta with seafood and the other one with tuna, tomato and olives are highly recommended. The deserts (cake, tiramisu, rum baba) were a delicious finale. We will be coming back, if we ever return to Verona....

When you first approach this restaurant it doesn’t “stand out” Situated next to another small restaurant, it’s a challenge which to choose. BUT, choose this one, it is simply superb! Food is 10/10 for quality and taste and with a menu large enough to ensure every diner gets a chance, the place is a must! Lovely friendly, family service in a comfortable environment makes for a great all around experience. So much so, we had lunch here two days later. Excellent. Made to order with a couple of ingredients changed due to allergies. This small restaurant punches well above its weight and really is a must. Great service, great atmosphere,Great food, and...
