First review 3. This is an interesting one. They have a beautiful pizza oven but the pizzas they make are bland and boring. It is a good restaurant but you will quickly find out the servings are small and it will cost you around $40 plus drinks to be satisfied. Also there is inadequate seating. Often you are asked to sit next to a wine barrell on bar stools which looks fancy but is very uncomfortable. The food is delicious though. That is why I am marking this as a 3 and I recommend you go here if you are willing to spend a lot of money.
Update 2022; I am quite dissapointed lately as the lasagna appears to have no béchamel sauce at all and prices have increased a lot since my previous review while the quality has decreased. I still sometimes enjoy eating here but local Japanese restaurants which make lasagna or pizza are better quality at half the price. It is sad that such a great chain of locations was growing but it has turned this way. This originally was one of my favorite restaurants except for the awkward uncomfortable seating. Now the food is boring and I feel as if I am forcing myself to finish it because of the price I am paying.
Not fun anymore.
Downgrading to 2.
You can see they are receiving many negative reviews lately as well.
Update 2022 October
I'm afraid I need to downgrade again. The pizzas are awful and heavily overpriced. The buffet is terrible and small and the pizza buffet is borimg, slow and sloppy. 2 messy pizzas which are basically bread covered in cheap oil.
8 years ago or so I took many friends here. Apart from the awful seating it was tasty and classy. Good wine, great service, professional. The VIP area was strange as it cut your seating capacity in half and those barrels look great. Try sitting at one and eating a pizza. You will quickly realise how awful it is. You can't put your feet anywhere and you can't lean forward. Is that good if you're eating pizza or pasta? The most delicious but messy food? I still recommended you.
Lately, no. Bad food, slow service, overpriced and not a fun atmosphere.
Sorry Salvatore, you haven't looked after your restaurants. I am sorry but I can never recommend anyone visit here. I hope you remove the ridiculous barrels and VIP area and become a success again. With proper chefs who can use those wonderful ovens and decorate a pizza at...
Read morePizzas at S. Cuomo's rarely disappoint. Also pastas, panini, appetizers and desserts are pretty nice. This joint is cozy and very well located, in the heart of Amemura.
But be AWARE that this page is Not updated: they Do Not offer anymore the lunch buffet (all-you-can-eat) at a very special price!
Then, also between 11:30 and 15:00, you can just order dishes from the menu at their regular, full price. You can still help yourself with salad buffet (only one choice, mixed salad) and a choice of few complimentary soft drinks. But your final bill will be substantially higher than what is advertised in here.
This fact was a little disappointing the last time I visited there, as we found out they don't offer their lunch deal anymore only after we sat down and asked to order: we had decided to go there for lunch exactly for this very deal, so it was not a good impression...
The promotion provided on this page is misleading and must be updated.
For this reason alone, I gave it...
Read moreOn our 4th visit, my steak n wedges came out with two bread and butter plates and a pair of tongs. They thought we wanted to share it. Considering how we also ordered a pizza and didnt mention the word share, I had to eat mine while waiting for the pizza to come out because cold steak is not good. We had to ask where was the pizza, a simple tomato sauce and cheese, but this took considerable more time and in the end we asked for a doggy-box to take the thing home. Which ultimately turned out to be a messy bog. Anyway, 3 out of 4 isnt bad, but this episode said 'dont go again'. Yes, it is a little bit more pricey in comparison to it's...
