A small izakaya run by a couple it seems. I ordered the saba set here. The saba was beautifully cooked, and a large chunk for the price of 1000 yen too. The fish was really fresh, and I don't think i could have asked for a better meal at that price point. You HAVE to come here if you are ever in Asakusa, its right behind the temple. I think its my favourite meal in all of Japan.
The gentleman handed us a note written in multiple languages that rice and miso were free to refill, which i really appreciated. The miso served here is red miso though, which I found too salty for my palette.
They have Japanese TV playing at the side of the counter, which I guess is a personal preference. I thought it added to the atmosphere of the izakaya, as did the regular customers who would spark a friendly conversation with the owners.

atmosphere is very cozy. the couple who run the restaurant do not speak English, and the menu is only in Japanese. however, the couple is very polite and friendly. even came with complementary green tea.
the food is freshly made at the counter. modest prices for good food! if you know a bit of Japanese and are able to order with it, I'd recommend coming here as a quick half an hour stop.
