Just far enough away from the main touristy sections to offer good food at a good price!

Honestly, it's probably around a 3.5 out of 5 because the ramen, though tasty, was a bit on the salty side and the gyoza were really missing that crispy bottom layer that you should expect out of Japanese pan-fried gyoza. The inside of the gyoza was tasty, though! The biggest flaw came from the wonton ramen I ordered. The wonton was 90% wrapper and just a tiny piece of filling. Seriously, the filling was less than a dime or 1 yen size. I thought it was just a fluke and was just the first piece, but all of the wontons were the same.

I loved the thick, wavy noodles though!

The menu is clear enough for non-Japanese speakers, and I heard a mix of English, Chinese, and Korean customers ordering with the staff. I believe there was an English menu, too but the Japanese menu at the counter included some English.

If you're coming with kids, there's a convenient and cheap kids ramen at just 200 yen.

It is a cozy, quaint place with tasty ramen, though so I'd say it's worth a shot if you're in the area and trying to avoid the crush...

very small and average noodle shop. the soup is full of msg. the glasses for customers on the table do not look washed to me (maybe just rinsed). Noodle is really average. The cook was once trying to take some noodle out of one boul and then move into another. The msg soup is something I feel I can cook at home. It looks like they should be famous for the pork but actually it's very fatty and salty. Before noodle was cooked they were wrapped in plastic bags (look like those for toys not for food). After noodle was cooked the cook took them out and water was still dripping onto the ground. I didn't even wanna look at the ground. Not expensive, otherwise it would be 1-2 stars

By the way, they take cash only. Arrogant people...

Came here on a rainy night at around 7pm; it was empty except for a family of 4. First impressions were great, given that the menu comes in English, and the waitress was able to speak and understand limited English. Helped a lot with the ordering! Food wise, excellent. Cha Shu was soft and melt-in-your-mouth, ramen eggs were flavorful, and broth was light and fragrant. Gyoza was perfectly crispy and paired well with the sauce. Chili oil is available as condiments, however I prefer the original taste of the ramen. Great service and great experience overall....

Not too many seats, all at the bar. The food was pretty good! Only 3 toppings on the base Kitakata ramen. The noodles were tasty, the soup wasn't too heavy and had a light flavour. The 5 pieces of small but thick chashu was the star of the meal, as they were super tender and flavourful. Almost melted in my mouth and was very good, complimenting the soup and noodles well. The few bits of green onions helped accentuate the taste and gave it a bit of freshness and crunch. They also gave cold tea for the drink instead of water.
