Tourist's review here There is an English menu and a Japanese menu. Japanese menu is more extensive than English so you may wanna use your translation app to look for more options I had the highly recommended squid ink monjya and it is indeed nice. It feels almost like eating a squid ink risotto that is always hot. Also had a yaki pork soba which is basically fried noodles with pork. It was ok and I would give it a miss I also ordered mushrooms and chicken to be grilled. It almost feels like teppanyaki. The mushrooms were extremely salty. To the point i was contemplating if I wanted to complain. Be prepare for your clothes to smell as well There is a cover charge of around 400+ yen PER PAX as well.

Arrived here at 6pm with no reservation and they were happy to give us as table for 3. Menu was in Japanese, we were also handed an English menu but could see it didn't contain the same dishes as the local one. We asked the waiter, yusaka, for recommendations from the local menu for us to try (see pics). They were delicious, one cabbage and seafood, one egg/omelette, one soy chicken (not pictured), tasted great. We would like to try others on the menu if we were to return Service was good, atmosphere was lively, price ok, great to try authentic food rather than usual tourist Orientated restaurants which occupy much of Tokyo.

I think this one is a tourist trap. I always eat monja at Tsukishima but this time I had foreign friends coming to Japan and it was raining so we decided to check this restaurant out. Food: not much fancy and the quantity is not acceptable. Service: even though waiters look nice at first but when they introduce dishes, they are not friendly though. Atmosphere: I think it's located next to Sensou-ji so it is definitely attracting tourists. The table always full, crowded. Price: I would like to go detailed on this one. First, This restaurant apply お通し (also known as the chair fee. Once you sit down a table, even you had not order something, you would be charged this first), some of my favorite restaurant do not have this and everyone is hating this though. Secondly, the price is overpriced in my opinion. Third, when we take our bill, we were surcharged. The dish in the menu was 1298 but the bill is 1573. They said it was their mistake but they look unhappy though =)))). I will never come to this place again.

Great little place around the corner from the shrine. During summer the heat from the stoves do start to get to you though. There are also zero pictures or English descriptions of the food, so for non-japanese readers I recommend you get Google translate ready. Our server Saya was great at explaining everything as best as she could and made delicious yakisoba noodles in front of us. Also you do have to get either edamame or squid entree for the table as a substitute for a table charge

Wanted an okonomiyaki in Asakusa. I stumbled upon this place. Apparently they also specialize in a different style of okonomiyaki called Monjayaki. Didn't know the difference at the time but went with it. The taste was great! I personally was not a fan of the more liquid consistency of this style of Okonimoyaki. I now know I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to that. Staff were super friendly and they cook it in front of you. P.S. get the Consomme fries. They were incredible!

The place was lively and almost full by the time I got there for dinner. The service staff is friendly, Ryo-kun helped cook our monjayaki & was very nice + friendly. The monjayaki + cheese topping is a nice surprise. The Hibiki highball is refreshing yet could be a tad stronger (I think) Monjayaki is a batter-like okonomiyaki that 90% would stay in an almost liquid form even when cooked on a hot plate. Just a heads up for people who never had one (like I did), but I quite like it.
