Shiroebi-tei - Tokyo Station — Restaurant in Tokyo

We came here on our last day in Tokyo and largely enjoyed the food. Do note that though you can order from the self service kiosk, this is only if you are using cash; for credit card payment, you should order directly at the cashier.

We ordered two tempura dishes and the fairly expensive sashimi over rice dish. The latter was fantastic - fresh with generous portions - and is highly recommended. It came with the picked firefly squid which I also enjoyed.

The tempura dishes were a bit more mixed though. They were largely tasty but I felt that the shrimps lacked the crunchiness that may it pleasurable to eat the shells. The tempura squid also had a bitterness which made me prefer the pickled version.

Last, I saw other guests ordering a smaller, presumably kids meal, so you could enquire about that if you have kids.

Overall, I would highly recommended the sashimi...

Shiroebi sashimi tastes sweet, but not cheap at all, nevertheless it takes quite a lot of efforts to peel them and make it into an appetizer. The firefly squid pickle is a bit too salty, but makes a lovely snack esp accompanying sake. Fukui ten-don was full of local specialty tempura incl my favorite shiroebi. Buri was a bit dry inside, firefly squid was alright... overall, will probably come back for their shiroebi sashimi don!

Their fried ebi (tiny white shrimp) tempura over rice was so addictive that I kept putting them into my mouth because they were so good! (Partially because I like fried crispy food)
