I randomly walked in craving my last sushi experience before my trip in japan ends. I go to the first place I spot after the train station. I'm usually particular but went in anyway. No regrets. I came to japan to eat and have met all sorts of lovely people and welcoming people but the chef here (14 Jan, 2024) tops them all and this was before I had even ordered. He was super chatty, welcoming and nice and was happy to talk to me and other customers throughout the meal. Then the food came out and I was soooo hoping it was good so I could write the review I wanted. I wasn't let down. He season's the rice with wasabi so you don't have to and he does so perfectly. Things I'm usually not 100% on were my favourite! Notably, the super creamy squid and the scallop. Just so happy I came here. The chef pointed out I chose good sake for the meal, took the bottle out to show me all on his doing. I know that's little but he really made it. The other lady in there was such a great hard worker too and I think they had a...
Read moreEdit: after two weeks in Japan traveling from Tokyo to Fukuoka with stops and eating everything that looked delicious from one end of Japan to the other, this remains my favorite meal here to date. We’ve tried more expensive places and found a few where the freshness of the fish blew our minds with melt in your mouth goodness, but this place nails it on flavor.
Original: Based on the great reviews, my daughter and I decided to try this on our second night in Tokyo. It was excellent. Thankfully the chef’s English was better than our Japanese so he was able to answer all our questions. Price was very reasonable and we tried a wide variety of menu items including the miso soup, sashimi appetizer for 2, and many sashimi and rolls. Drinks were delicious with great balance between ingredients and flavor. Flavor is definitely the word for the evening as everything we tried was amazingly fresh and delicious. Our favorites: the anakyu, the grilled flounder fin, and...
Read moreWonderful sushi restaurant in Asakusa Market. We found it when we first arrived at our hotel 2 days ago, and we loved it so much that went back today before going to the airport.
The sushi quality is fantastic, and the fish pieces are about a 50% larger than I've had any other place. A bit more expensive than other nearby places, but so much less than in the States, and worth every yen! A plus for my dining companion is that you can select sushi without wasabi. I love wasabi, but she does not, so it was great to have the option!
With such high reviews it may get crowded... Fortunately this time even thought we went when it opened at noon we only waited about 5 minutes. The first time we went at 3pm and did not wait at all. Sat at the bar both times which is the best because you can watch the skilled chefs preparing your food. Don't miss some of the best sushi I've had in Japan, which is...
