I really don't have words to describe how AMAZING our dinner was at A5 Wagyu PANGA Asakusa!! This is by far one of the best meals I've ever had in my life, up there in my Top 3 best, not only for the mouth-watering food but some of the best service I have ever had and a stunning atmosphere, both inside and out, with a nighttime view looking out over the Sumida River. Let's start with the food. I've eaten in steakhouses worldwide, from high-priced joints in LA, Las Vegas, and NYC to world-famous steakhouses in Buenos Aires and throughout Patagonia to Michelin-starred ones in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Those combined can't compare to the lusciousness, tenderness, juiciness, and flavor explosion of taste at PANGA's. I have had A5 Wagyu outside of Japan, and it's great, but nothing like here, and get ready to take a small loan out to eat it. Eating A5 Japanese Kuroge Wagyu, in a place like PANGA, is like no other taste experience you will ever have. And we just ordered a la carte, to pick and choose our cuts, going with the Chateaubriand Steak, Thin Cut Ribeye, and Wagyu Shortrib. Perfection! And for our side dishes, a heavenly green salad with the most amazing dressing (I tried to get the recipe from our waiters it was sooooo good, but no luck, as even they don't know), a delicious egg & flower soup, and mouth-watering garlic fried sticky rice with chunks of Wagyu in it. All a perfect compliment to the main event of the A5 Wagyu.
Then let's get into how excellent the staff was, from the first person who greeted us walking in when they opened to the perfect table service to the loving and heartful goodbye and thank you for dining with us on the way out. Our servers were some of the best I've seen. It's that service where they are always within ear or eyeshot, watching and keeping an eye on you and what you might need next or have finished and need your plates cleared, and not that annoying hovering or coming to your table at the wrong moment lots of servers do. It's the level of service you find in Michelin-rated restaurants. And to my knowledge, I don't think PANGA is Michelin-rated (it should be), so it's even more impressive that they put to shame some of the Michelin restaurants I've dined at! Being that we ordered the Chateaubriand, the most expensive cut on the menu, our server asked us if we would like to cook it ourselves or her, to which we happily said you, please cook it to perfection, as we don't want to ruin this stunning cut. And boy oh boy was it cooked to perfecion! Perfect medium cook and it just melts in your mouth, as what I like to call meat butter.
Lastly, the atmosphere, both inside and outside. A romantic, warm, cozy, inviting atmosphere hits you first thing when you walk in and go to your table. Then, let's take it up another level and throw in the stunning glass window view, stretching the whole width of the restaurant, looking out over the Sumida River at night. I mean, c'mon!! What?!?!!? This is like a scene out of a movie. It's that good!
Do yourself a favor and don't just walk, but run to A5 Wagyu Yakiniku PANGA Asakusa and have one of the best meal experiences you'll ever have in your life. Thank you so much for one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had in dining, and being there with my parents, to enjoy it with them, all of us will remember that our whole lifetime. Arigatogozaimasu!! Arigatogozaimasu!!...
Read moreA5 Yakiniku Panga Asakusa was a culinary journey into the finest Wagyu beef, served in an intimate and traditional Japanese setting. As we walked into the restaurant, the minimalist yet elegant décor, with warm lighting and sleek wooden interiors, immediately set a calm and refined tone for the meal ahead.
The staff greeted you with warm hospitality, guiding us to our table where a grill was waiting. When the cuts of A5 Wagyu arrived—carefully presented, on a wooden platter—we were struck by the incredible marbling, an intricate web of fat that promised melt-in-your-mouth richness.
Grilling the Wagyu ourselves was a central part of the experience. As we placed the thin, delicately cut slices on the grill, they sizzled, releasing a wave of aroma. Each bite was incredibly tender, with the fat melting into the meat, offering an unmatched balance of flavor and texture. The light seasoning enhanced the taste without overpowering the natural richness of the beef.
The side dishes, a refreshing salad, fried rice, balanced the indulgence of the Wagyu, adding lightness and complexity to the meal. Between bites, you might have taken in the serene ambiance, appreciating the craft and attention to detail that went into every aspect of the experience.
Leaving the restaurant, we felt satisfied, having enjoyed a meal that was as much about savoring the delicate flavors of premium Wagyu as it was about immersing ourselves in the ritual...
Read moreMy wife and I tried Yakiniku Panga on Sunday evening dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to accommodate us as their were plenty of empty tables. What confused me was why they seated us in the centre of the restaurant when there were empty tables by the panoramic glass with the view of the Asahi golden turd. Did we have to be muslim to get a table with a view? We chose the 6 premium A5 Wagyu set. Don't bother looking at their menu online because when you get there, they offer something different. The 2 best cuts of beef were grilled by the server at your table, the other 4 cuts you grill yourself. The server brings out a beautiful piece of marbled steak, grills it to perfection, and then places that cooked steak back on the tray that the raw steak was on to take the steak into the kithen to have it sliced. That's just bad food hygiene no matter where you're from. A different waiter brings back the steak sliced on a plate. Lucky we had a grill on our table to re-grill our contaminated steak. We even told the server my wife was pregnant, but clearly she didn't care. The steak was delicious even cooking the steak a little longer on the grill. The thin cut was next, it was tender and delicious with their egg/truffle sauce. I can't say the same for the remaining 4 cuts of beef we had, they were chewy and below A4. I really wanted to enjoy this place but I won't be back. Plenty of other good Wagyu...
