Read moreNegative first~ when we walked in and sat down, there was a damp smell. We got used to it after that. When the waiter/bartender came to take order, he was full of body-odor, like after sweating in a marathon. Then, the salmon bruschetta was nice but the toasted slice was cold. I would appreciate it if they came out hot with cold salmon on top. There was a stone in the sambal, but that’s authentic, my mom cooked nyonya food, her sambal also sometimes got stone. Just be careful when eating. Christmas vibes are still on, like lazy to take down, but maybe customers liked the vibes. The rice was quite dry, maybe need a few more minutes to cook it. The fried egg has a burnt downside.
Positive now~ the choice of music tv was nice. Decoration was nice, mixture of design and own preferences (animation figures). The Butter Chicken was really delicious! Credits to the chef. The Nasi Lemak also wonderful. Santan rice was spot on. Sambal was delicious and spicy enough, authentic & rustic. Fried prawns were fresh, ikan bilis and kacang were crispy. Papadoms free.
Overall, i hope they will keep the...
Read moreDid not meet expectations considering the 4.5 rating (at time of writing). Quite dissatisfied.
Had the Lamb Varuval and fish and chips. The guy attending told us the chef was new and it was his first day, maybe that was the issue.
Lamb Varuval meat was soft and fresh as promised and the flavour was quite reasonable but that's where it ends. Apparently this dish is supposed to be oily (the staff told us in retrospect). It was extremely oily, both the lamb dish and the rice. The excessive oil detracting from the other nice flavours. Some will love it,...
The lamb dish was approx 70% bone and lamb fat. Again there are those that will be stimulated by the thought of all that lamb fat... See before and after photos. The one that looks messier is what's left after you pick out all the available protein. At RM 38+ it was very disappointing.
Fish and chips were cheaper but not a deal, The fish was reasonable but not special. Chips were mass market factory offerings.
Surprised by all of this considering the rave reviews...
