We just had our breakfast over here. It was a very bad experience for us. 9 of us gather here despite having our breakfast also celebrate birthday for 1 of our group member. We do not know that they serve cakes so we bring our cake. A lady came n told us we were only allowed to take photo but not allowed to eat our cake in the cafe because they also serve cake but in pc not in a whole cake unless we order earlier . After our breakfast we proceed for cake cutting. After cake cutting, we tot to cut out each of us a small pc. Our cake was put in tissue. we tot since already cut in pc for each of us must it well just eat it. The whole process not more than 5 minutes. Suddenly the lady came over again n talk loudly to us " hey I told u all already u r not allow to eat here". Come on, each of us just carry a small pc n just "soon bian" eat it. Why need so strict? Rules is set by human, n it should be flexible. U can tell us: next time Don bring cakes over, we still can accept cause we totally do not know that they strictly not allow. .. and since we were here n it's for a happy celebration... pls don't just spoilt the environment.

To me, the breakfast was not taste good. So so only. Price also not reasonable for this kind of food n environment. I can find other cage which serve more healthy n delicious breakfast n price more cheaper than here. The environment of the cafe was also so so only. N the service of the staff.. . Speechless.. fyi, our total spending rm155.

9 of us will not...

Advice to new customer! If you looking for chill and relaxing breakfast, this place is strongly NOT recommended!!!

Today about 11am,I experienced the worst dining experience ever. When I just walked up from my sit and queuing for another new order to continue the dining. The staff asking whether they can them help to clean up for my table first while my pregnant wife sitting at there with our drink is still full on the table.

After the cleaning, the staff was straight plan to give the table out to another customer without asking our permission. My pregnant wife stopped them and explained that the seat is occupied and we are still continue dining with new order. However, the staff still insisted that that other new customer food is ready and without available seat. I feel disrespected because they are trying to chase us out.

I quit the new order and left the restaurant with full of...

Overall. Poor experience for the service. I had a disappointing experience at Sin Sei Kai Artisan Bakery at today. As a first-time visitor to Penang from Singapore, my party and I were uncertain about the ordering process and sought clarification from one of your young Chinese waitresses, identifiable by her blush pink t-shirt, short hair, and glasses. Her dismissive attitude and lack of helpfulness were off-putting, making us feel unwelcome.

I urge your bakery to take this feedback seriously and implement measures to improve the quality of service at your bakery. Improving customer service and ensuring staff understand their job responsibilities is essential.

The dismissive behavior displayed by your staff member reflects poorly on your establishment and discourages potential patrons from returning or recommending your place...

We came in today around 11am - it was buzzing with people but there were still some tables available both inside and outside. We ordered an almond croissant, half boiled eggs, and kaya butter toast. We also ordered a coffee/chocolate combination (iced). Everything came to 33MYR which is very reasonable for everything we ordered. Staff were very helpful, and all the food tasted great. We had tried steamed kaya butter bread before, but Sin Seh Kai offer an “upscale” version of the toast using bread with walnuts - unsure if this was sourdough but it tasted fantastic. For foreigners - they only accept cash or Touch n Go wallet as payment. We didn’t know and tried to Apple Pay and use card, but they noted cash or Touch N Go only. It was fine as we luckily had cash. I’d come back to try their other croissants!

Recommended by a friend to come and try on a sunday morning brunch time. Sourdough kaya toast is quite special. Toast is soft and easy to chew. Butter was flavourful and kaya was not too sweet. Bonus point. They peel the half boiled eggs! Roasted pork with noodles looks good too. Taste wise is there and pork was crispy. Bacon and cheese croissant was soso, the cheese was too hard to cut, croissant wasn't so flaky. Cream cheese cranberry croissant is good to pair with coffee as the filling is abit sweet. Kopi was kaokao which is good, cappucino tasted normal, but it was served in a traditional coffee cup which was cute. Overall, will come back just to eat the sourdough if i ever visit penang. Good for bread lovers.

Their croissants and bread are the highlight of this place, no doubt about that. Been coming back to this bakery cafe just for the croissants but this time, for lunch and I'll list the stuff I've tried so far, here. 1. Strawberry cream cheese croissant (9/10) - Our favourite. 2. Cranberry cream cheese croissant (8/10) - My personal favourite. 3. Pain Au Chocolat (8/10) - Buttery, flaky and chocolatey! 4. Matcha cream cheese croissant (6/10) - Would not recommend this one though and I'm a matcha lover myself. 5. Apple Pie (8.5/10) - Warm, soft and melts in your mouth. 6. Waygu pork lard rice (7/10) - It was not bad but not great either. 7. Tuna sandwich (7/10) - Simple and tasty. Love that they use French Butter!
