Extremely Disappointed – Poor Durian Quality and Uncaring Service
I’m writing this review to share a very disappointing experience I had at this durian store. I visited recently and ordered two durian platters, each costing $88. Each platter was supposed to feature five premium varieties: D101, D175, D24, Black Thorn, and Musang King. For the price, I expected high quality and a satisfying experience. Unfortunately, that was far from the case.
The D101, D175, and D24 were great — fresh, creamy, and flavorful, exactly what I hoped for. However, both the Black Thorn and Musang King were a complete disaster. They were hard, completely lacking in flavor, and clearly unripe or mishandled. These are supposed to be the highlight of any durian platter, especially the Musang King, which is often considered the gold standard. To serve them in that condition was not only disappointing but unacceptable.
We raised the issue with the waiter, hoping for at least a simple acknowledgment or some form of resolution. Instead, we were met with complete indifference. He didn’t even bother to check the durians or offer an apology, let alone a replacement. It felt like once they had our money, they simply didn’t care anymore. For a place charging premium prices, the least they could do is provide respectful customer service.
Durian lovers know how expensive and rare good durian can be, and we’re usually willing to pay for quality. But this experience left a bad taste in every sense. We felt shortchanged and dismissed.
I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience truly deserves to be called out. If you're thinking of coming here, I strongly advise you to reconsider. There are other durian spots that care about both the quality of their fruit and the satisfaction of their customers — this just isn’t...

Read moreWe walked pass Duriyen by chance and decided to check it out. Staff was very friendly to us so we decided to come back after dinner. On the way to dinner place, we also passed by a few other durian places so we got to compare the price. Duriyen had slightly better price. We got a whole musang king and it was really nice. We counted 14 seeds in total for 1.5kg durian which is pretty good. Whats better than having durian in an air-conditioned place with a cold coconut on...
