Went for dinner @ Friday 9/6/2023 for 3pax.
Ordered: Portebello Mushroom soup Black Angus Ribeye - medium rare Smoked Back Ribs - well done Aglio Olio Seafood Add On extra salad Pisang Bakar Gula Melaka Fresh Lime A pot of English Rose Tea
The place was not exactly what u'd expect - its located in an old rustic looking post World War 2 2 storey shophouse, but with an interesting interior with a touch of minimalist modern decor.
Service was pure impeccable, with a smartly attired waiter that looked more like one of those personal butlers u'd find in a high end hotel, who was very attentive to our needs the moment we sat down. Maybe because we were the only customers at that time.
Since it was our 1st time there, the chef personally came to our table to help us order & provided his recommendation on the restaurant's favorite orders.
Took less than 20 minutes when all the food started to be served. First out - the popular Mushroom Soup that came with 4 small slices of mini loafs, perfectly toasted with butter garlic spread. The soup was hot, sumptuous & thick, making it perfect to dip the toasted sliced loafs which partially soaked the loafs & melts richly in your mouth that u want to finish all the 4 pieces of loafs in the soup at one go. Seriously....Its that bloody good.....
The Smoked Ribs - awesomely marinated & smoked to perfection that the meat's own juice mixed within the marination makes you drool again & again till u just can't seem to get enough. That was one of the best ribs we ever had that came along with their delicious home made mashed potatoes & poached veggies. The marination was so good, i didn't even bother pouring the black pepper sauce that came separately with the smoked ribs...yes, it was that good.
The Black Angus Ribeye was...well, above average & not that bad. The meat was tender enough to chew & went well with the black pepper sauce & the poached veggies, but somehow it just didn't cut it as good as the smoked ribs.
The Aglio Olio Seafood - very generous portion that came with prawns, oysters & clams. Very tasty & appetizing that my daughter finished it clean.... satisfying indeed.
The Pisang Bakar Gula Melaka - very uniquely fusion dessert house speciality.......its actually one fresh piece of banana, sliced into 2 & laced with crunchy crystalized caramelized Gula Melaka & comes with 3 scoops of vanilla flavored ice cream. Tasty but a little bit high on the sweetness barometer.
The highly recommended English Rose Tea - this was the real surprise here, as it smelled as good & as fragrant as a genuine rose bud that it felt like i was drinking tea with a bunch of roses around my nose. The distinctive fragrance just nailed it for me & my family & that really made the day for us. Was informed that the English Rose Tea was actually imported from England. Definitely a must. Ooh...the tea, its bottomless, meaning u can add on hot water as much as u want.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food & the service here. Definitely coming back...... awesomely good.
Total damage for 3 pax - RM448.... expensive, but worth every Ringgit if u appreciate genuine freshly cooked food made to order from scratch with a waiter that waits more like a personal butler & attentive service. What a gem - highly...
Read moreDuring our unforgettable week-long road trip through Malaysia, our family decided to cap off our adventure with a one-night stay in Malacca.
Before arriving, i researched for steakhouses and came across LeQUE Steak & Smoked House where i made reservations a week prior, eager to mark the occasion of my sister's 24th birthday on 31 December 2023.
As we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted by warm smiles from the staff, who took the time to introduce us to their menu with genuine enthusiasm and expertise. Their friendly demeanor and professional service immediately set the tone for a memorable evening.

Went in and was greeted very warmly by the female waitress. The menu had so many different types of smoked items, pasta/rice and especially wagyu steaks. We ordered mushroom soup as appetizer, a wagyu tritip steak and the signature lamb shank as the mains.
Gosh we were both so stoked by the mushroom soup! It was the best I have ever tasted! 10/10 Even the bread was crispy and warm to the touch, perfect pairing for the mushroom soup! So gooooood that imma come here again just to take away the mushroom soup XD haha!
Wagyu tritip was awesome too, melts in your mouth with every bite, definitely worth to try! Had ordered medium but I think I’ll go for medium rare the next time!
The chef even personally came over to introduce their signature dishes one by one, carefully detailing each of them, what good service!
The mash was really really unforgettably good too! Also another one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Too bad I can’t do any take-always for the mash :/
Their different types of purée, so unexpectedly delicious too, finely plated and decorated!
Smoked lamb shank for 12hours, tender meat and no lamb-after taste, pairs perfectly with the specially made sauce!
Last but not least we had the Pisang Bakar Gula Melaka, the sugar caramelized on the banana was awesome, voila crème brûlée banana! The ice cream was just average, but it did pair well with the Pisang Bakar.
All in all I would definitely come back again! Thumbs up! 👍🏻
A shoutout to the guys @ LeQUE! Thank you! Appreciate putting all your hard work and effort into making such great...
