Shui Xian Su Shi Yuan Vegetarian — Restaurant in Malacca

Please understand this review is solely based on overall experiences, but if you can ignore other factors, just want food taste. I will recommend you to try out this Vegetarian Restaurant.

TLDR; Food taste okay, services are Extremely Bad, atmosphere still okay, but overall got drag down all the way to 1 star, thanks to the Man and Lady for being very rude and bad mouthing customer all the time.

Review starts here: Okay, first of all I'm from Klang. The vegetarian food served by this restaurant is actually good. Ordered Prawn Mee, Mee Hun Kuey and Chicken Rice Ball. Prawn Mee taste good, while Mee Hun Kuey taste much better than I thought, it's very pleasant to get good food with an average price.

Although that day I visit, the Chicken Rice ball taste not that good, too soft? Not feeling that good after eating that... I did ordered a coffee, it taste... Quite blant... I think the drinks are the most not worth it...

Then there's the DYNAMIC DUO who take our order and serve us... I don't know what I did? I'm pretty sure I'm just asking nicely, trying to be nice to order some food, but man... The lady who take our order sure are not happy... Whole ordering she with this I owe her something face. While the Man walking around serving other customers and bad mouthing other customers behind their back at the same time are really something...

At first, I thought maybe they both just have a bad day. Until I experience it myself, which is when we are unable to finish the chicken rice ball. I just kindly ask, can you help me pack up the chicken rice ball? I'm going to take away and finish it later.

The lady unhappily look at me, like I'm an annoying customer? While the Man was like, you wait... I'll serve other customer first. Yes, then I was able to heard the complain of us unable to finish the food, then don't order so many. I was like... I didn't waste it? I just going to take away and enjoy it later?

The man help me take over our chicken rice ball to let lady packs it, still able to heard some muttering behind the back... The lady come over our table didn't hand over our take away food, but toss it on our table... That's it. I'm actually wondering... What did I do wrong in the whole dining experience? They was like I'm very annoying and was making a mess in there... Doesn't like us to have meal in there. Smiling to some other customer, but turn around to bad mouthing them? (Same smile to me, turn behind always has muttering noise...)

Hence, I'm sorry. I'm not going back to this restaurant, anymore. The DYNAMIC DUO are able to bring the overall dining experiences to a new low for me. If can, I would give 0 star. Highly not recommend other for going, unless they change these 2 person to nice person who are going to serve people...

Not appropriate to visit on day-1 and day-15 of chinese calendar (初一十五), where many local people taking vegetarian diet. The shop will be extremely busy, hence lead to rude behavior by owners, and even treating customers with double standard.

We (2 pax) seated in a small table, after a while nobody come to give menu & take order. I saw the shop are quite busy, hence I took the initiative to take the menu from the counter. I told my order to an elder lady who was sitting there, instead of just taking down my order, she said I have to go back to sit down & wait for someone to come & take order (in which we had been waiting & nobody come).

Okay, someone approached us. We were told all food finished, only left with 2 options (vege chicken rice & vege char siew rice). Okay, as we have no other choice, so we ordered these 2.

When food arrived, the lady who served the food told me to take the cutlery myself but she immediately left, without allowing me to ask where the cutley is. Yes, ok for me. But the place where they place the cutlery was obscured. Again, I searched around, and finally asked someone who was really so busy, and answered with "dark face".

Best part is, while dining in, I realized that the owners who are so-called "very busy" actually very friendly & passionate, only to customers who came in bigger group. We heard their conversation, and found that the customers who came after us, were allow to order a few variety of food options, but earlier on we were told that "all finished".

I don't understand why these double standard that different menu were offered to different customers, that we only limited to only can order 2 types of food, while other customers who came after us were offered more variety of food options. Maybe the person who take order from me didn't check with the kitchen; or maybe those are regular customers while we are tourist. (Anyway, we are from Petaling Jaya)

Anyway, we understand the challenges of handling a big crowd. Just suggestion, if it is really a busy day (eg day 1 & day 15 of calendar) and owners can't handle the big crowd, suggest not to open for tourist dine-in, you can just allow your "regular customers" (local vegetarian) to order via contacting owners personally, much better than open the business, but treating customers with double standard (tourist vs local, big group vs small group)

If the owners prefer customers to self-service, eg take cutlery on our own, please place the cutlery at the area which is obvious to be seen, so we don't have to disturb you when you are...

Service: Super super super bad service and calculative. 1st they put a baby chair for my 1.5yo next to cutlery station. When my 1.5yo kid try to reach out to those cutlery, our baby got scolded. We moved our baby to another side immediately. Then we passed our kid 1 small saucer and again got scolded saying cannot play with those as they do not have enough to use (when there are still plenty and i just want to fill baby biscuits in the saucer). When my 4yo asked if we want some saucer n cutlery and try to take for us, AGAIN, my 4yo got scolded for cannot play with cutlery when he hasn't taken anything. We took some extra chili and was "sounded" that we need to finish the chili (fine, i take it with the intend that you do not want customer to waste food but they was they have said it, just doesn't make you feel comfortable) Asked for a small empty bowl for my kid's soup noodle and the lady's face is as though i have owed her alot

Food: Taste is decent... Not super good but not bad.

If you don't mind by any chance the people in the shop will spoil your day and mood of dining with just ok food, ok to give it a shot. Else there are other...
