We ordered some beers and nachos with beef, we stayed on the beach just beside the restaurant, the restaurant was empty most of the day as people ordering was at the beach just as us, prices were ok and nachos were very yummy, however the staff was not really honest nor friendly, waiter Raul was just nice but at the time we asked for the bill, he just told us the amount, we paid it but since the amount didn't match our maths we asked for the bill, when finally the bill came, we noticed he was overbilling around 12 USD, which we supposed was the tip so we decided not to argue and paid it; in Mexico tip isn't mandatory but optional so isn't really honest to charge it without your consent. Finally, Raul left around 4 pm and told us we could ask for more drinks or food if we wanted, we told him we would go swimming for an hour and maybe ask something else. After swimming at 5 pm, we wanted to use the restroom as we did 3 times in the morning, but the guy at the entrance was very rude and asked us who was our server, I told him I didn't remember his name but we were getting drinks and food here the whole day so he told me as Raul left I wasn't supposed to be authorized to get in and use the restroom (but as I was already walking through) he said ok, you can use the restroom this time only, otherwise you'd need to open another account, my friend was told almost the same 2 minutes later by the same guy, but in his case he wasn't allowed to get in and use the restroom. Very ridiculous way to treat customers! Staff should be trained to be nice with customers and not so...
Read moreComing off of the Norwegian Cruise Liner the "Bliss" I wanted to chill once we got the Cabo San Lucas Pier. I schlepped my family around the walkway that surrounds the pier to the beach ( about 15 min i was too cheap to take a water taxi) Once we got to the beach I headed out to a pretty open spot away from the throngs of beach goers that happend to be in front of the Hungry Shark Bar which you can't miss because of the picture of a cartoonish shark right smack dab in the middle.
The place offers on the beach dining or if you prefer and 2nd story upper deck that offers up a rand 180 Panoramic view of the ocean, beaches and surrounding resorts. Added bonus you can see your cruise liner in the distance. Great restroom facilities. Very clean. Service was good. You can rent out a couple of Umbrella Chair Setups for about 40 bucks if you negotiate.
The food was great, but pricey as you are on a resort and will pay resort prices. I will say the food was way better then I had expected as I paid about $75 dollars American for a family of four (4 orders of tacos, Nachos and drinks) When you order anything with steak you will get pieces of steaks not charred beef jerky. The Shrimp tacos had a deep smoky rich flavor. Came with roasted whole cherry tomatos that were tangy sweet and smoky as well. The portions on the nachos are family level shareable. They did not skimp on the cheese or the protiens.
I would come back for the food, proximity of the pier, beach...
Read moreI very rarely write bad reviews. But our experience at The Hungry Shark was so bad, I feel the need to warn people. We were there for only about 45 minutes or so. I had 2 cocktails, my fiancée had 1 cocktail and a beer. The drinks were fine. They were pretty overpriced, but about what you would expect at the beach in Cabo. The servers were very friendly and attentive at first. But when it came time to pay the bill, thing turned sour. The bill for 4 beverages was $50 US. I paid with a crdit card, and gave our main server who had brought us our drinks a tip of 100 pesos. Then 2 of the servers started arguing with me and telling me that I needed to give them all more tips. That I needed to tip a server we barely met, and the kitchen as well. Eventually they brought their manager down, who continued to argue with me. At this point. I had 3 men harassing me, trying to make me give them more money. We left feel very attacked and upset. I would never recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever return.
Do yourself a favor. Bring or buy a cooler, load it up with some drinks of your choice, and post up on the beach somewhere. You can bring or rent an umbrella if you like. Most of the beach bars at Medano Beach are extremely overpriced these days. They scarcely even want to give you a table unless you are buying food, not just drinks. It is much better to just BYOB unless you are planning on buying...
