Aleta — Restaurant in El Medano Ejidal

I have dinned at Aleta a couple times. The first time I was there everything was amazing, the food, service and of course the view. I was there for a second time a couple of weeks ago and this time was very excited I brought my entire family to celebrate my daughters birthday. I had raved about this place. Unfortunately this time it was not as great. Food was average but the service was terrible. When we were done with our meal I asked for the check. I paid and had a few pesos left that I was going to add to the tip. Our waitress Azucena came back almost immediately and very aggressively in a very loud voice said to me in front of my family “the service is not included “!!! I looked at her confused thinking I did not put enough money to cover our meals as I was going to tip separately. So I asked her is this not enough to cover our meals and again she replied “yes but the service is not included!” I made her very aware that I knew her tip was not included and I was going to tip her separately when she brought my change. Her demeanor change immediately. I was so confused and upset. I was yelled at in-front of my family for not including her tip initially. I was very generous with my tip even though I probably shouldn’t have after how I was treated. My family was in disbelief and said this is the place you raved about? This left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will definitely not go back or refer anyone to this place when there are so many other options to...

stayed at the Corazon Cabo which is where this restaurant is located along Medano Beach. We visited three times and each for a different reason.

First time: Dessert and drinks. Everyone was super accommodating and the desserts and drinks were excellent. A bit pricey but we didn't really mind because of the location. We had the churros and ice cream along with the pineapple cheesecake. We'd have given 5 stars after this visit.

Second visit: Breakfast. We thought our breakfast was very good, again a bit pricey and this time service was significantly slower. Standard offerings but the view and people watching made up for everything else. We'd have given 4 stars after this visit.

Third and final visit: Dinner. Let me begin by saying had this been our first visit we would not have gone back. Service was beyond slow (and we don't mind taking our time and relaxing while in Mexico). We sat down at 7pm and we were having to try and find our waiter to pay our bill around 10:00pm and we didn't even do dessert or after dinner drinks. The dishes were just ok and definitely not worth the $300 that was the bill. We've had much nicer and better for less in town or at other locations. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.. Only went here bc The office was closed down the street and I left here even more hungry. Waiter recommended the seabass and when I ordered it he had the nerve to ask me if im sure thats what I want to order. When the seabass came out it was very bland and the risotto had a weird texture and after taste to it My bf tried it and said the same thing that it was disgusting. Told the waiter we didnt like it and sent it back. The waiter comes back with the plate and ask us do we want a box for it to go. After i had to explain to him a 2nd time that i didnt like it and dont want it he leaves and brings us back the bill and to our surprise we were still charged for the seabass and then charged for 2 waters when we only ordered 1. There rude manager Enrique comes to the table and tells us that they wont take off the seabass because there is nothing wrong with and even has the nerve to say that the waiter asked me if i was sure i wanted to order that. Any other restaurant you go to and tell them you dont like something they take it off with no problem and even offer something else. Now it makes sense why this restaurant is dead on a weekend night.
