To begin, this restaurant/beach bar was our absolute favourite beach bar in Cabo until today (November 15, 2022), and we have been there at least 20 times over the past several years. While the first few hours of the day were fantastic (the servers there can not be beat, so friendly and attentive!!), but things took a turn quickly. Unfortunately a lady who was all alone had far too much to drink during the day, seemingly prior to her arrival at Billygans (which does happen, it is vacation after all!). But she was beyond the point of just a typical over-intoxicated situation. After alerting the manager to the situation, even though it was obvious what was happening, she didn’t want to cause panic and refused to call the paramedics. After several patrons contacted emergency services, paramedics arrived to assist. Because the lady who needed help was coherent enough to mumble “no” a couple of times the medical team, understandably, could not take her to the hospital. Cue the patrons of the beach club. There were many people who were paying to be there and got up to help in any way they could. It was certainly a team effort by many of the customers. We approached the female manager again for guidance or any type of assistance (short sleeved, blue shirt). She did nothing to help at all. In fact, after I explained we needed to help this woman who was in distress, she sat and ate her lunch and then carried on having a meeting with someone, a mere 15 feet away from a lady throwing up all over our feet. Later, she told my wife it was rude that I interrupted her meeting (to get help for an unwell and distressed patron!). The manager is uncaring, and frankly not someone that I believe represents the Billygans brand at all. The only thing she could say was that she had told the waiters to stop serving the lady alcohol, but that was all she could do (her words). Perhaps she could have at least been been present or helping out instead of leaving your customers to do it all while she sat staring at them for over an hour, and patrons running around to help as best they could in a scary situation. I actually feel awful writing this because the wait staff are beyond fantastic and the food is consistently good, but if you value your safety and dignity, I would suggest staying away from this place. Such a shame to have someone so uncaring and disinterested in your customers being in charge and setting the example for the rest of your team. Billygans, please train your management to give your customers the respect and dignity they deserve, even on their worst days. Our day, and several of your other customers vacation time was ruined by a manager who was uncaring and dismissive to a customer who needed help. Instead of taking control of the situation, as any decent manager would, we were the ones who flagged police down on the road out front to call the medics, and communicated the situation to the paramedics when they arrived. The whole time the manager was just sitting there watching! Again, for what it is worth, the waitstaff can not be beat here, they are fantastic and got us water and towels for the unwell woman anytime we asked for it. Unfortunately, we will not be back after seeing this sorry display of a manager avoid a serious medical situation in her establishment and leave it up to the kindness of strangers to resolve. Perhaps if she received some kind of first aid training she would be better equipped to recognize an emergency and help someone in need. This was not what we wanted to spend a day of our vacation doing, it was upsetting and stressful for all involved. And to top it off, everyone there ended up paying full price for the day, and not even a thank you was given to any of us for anything we did! Do better Billygans, the health and safety of your customers should be your top priority...
Read moreWe recently visited Billygans "Beach Club" after hearing about it from fellow travelers. To say that our experience was underwhelming would be an understatement.
The portions were minuscule, leaving us feeling like we were paying a hefty price for mere crumbs. The quality was mediocre at best, with flavors that failed to satisfy.
We anticipated being able to relax on lounge chairs or perhaps even reserve a day bed to soak up the sun. However, not a single mention was made of such options. It felt like false advertising, leaving us with a sense of disappointment and frustration. Overall, Billygans "Beach Club" failed to live up to its hype. From the lackluster food to the absence of promised amenities, it was a letdown from start to finish. Save your money and seek out a more fulfilling dining and relaxation...
Read moreWe came to the spot to enjoy the beautiful beach while eating breakfast here. The ocean view is beautiful. The staff are very friendly. They also let us to play by the beach and enjoy the view as long as we want. The spacing between tables are pretty nicely spread out. The 3 breakfast that we ordered are so delicious. The morning breakfast comes with egg, avocado, turkey ham and two kinds of melting cheese with fresh side salad. My son ordered shrimp omelet. It is very large portion with another side salad too. The keto breakfast comes with beef barbacoa, smoke salsa dipping, 3 bacon, avocado, 2 eggs(your choice of egg cooked), side salad. The 2 juices are very fresh, freshly squeeze grapefruit and orange juice. We are very happy with our order and we are quite full after ordering 3 breakfasts to share...
