I wanted to like this place. After eating at local casual spots we wanted to try somewhere a little more “upscale?” Immediately noticed our table was wobbly. Not just a little, like dangerous to eat on. Upon request the waitstaff fixed it. Not mad about it. But charging those prices tables shouldn’t be like that. Margaritas were good but $16 dollars. The setting is fine for what it is. Mariachis and ballon man. Service was friendly and good. The food was im sorry to say embarrassing. Slop and drop for sure. $34 dollars for unseasoned beef and peppers in a hot mortar. Oh there was cheese too but it was in large chunks and wasn’t melted or even edible. Was that a small leek or giant green onion on top? I couldn’t cut it with the knife. No plate either just a hot mortar. Tortilla were meh (flour?) Reminded me of bad Mexican food in Alaska. And my girlfriends Chile relleno. Yikes. Veggies or cheese? Nope just cheese. Also, What was that mashed potato enchilada? And in a pool of spaghetti sauce? Beans out of a can? Rice would be called bland by my Midwest relatives. No love in the food and no culinary anything. If I’m paying $34 dollars for a dish it better be plated not just lazily thrown in a mortar. One of the most unsatisfying meals of my life. If it was 30% cheaper and you just wanted a tourist “Mexican” experience yeah sure whatever go out with the friends and family and get sung to and enjoy the atmosphere. People were friendly but I felt embarrassed for...

There are two hostess stands and it didn't seem like they were communicating with each other, we checked in with the first and didn't get sat until we waited again with the second hostess. We waited over 20 minutes to receive our drinks. We ordered a traditional margarita, two waters, and a beer... then after the 20 minute wait and deciding on a different restaurant, we asked for our check. Not once, twice, or three times but 4 times! Seriously over 30 minutes after I had asked for the check to leave. One waiter asked us if we were sure didn't want to order something since we were still there! Then the check said, a margarita, a beer, 2 shots of Tito's. I politely asked that those be removed since I had never ordered shots, the waiter smirked and said he'd be back... another 15 minutes pass and I had to walk up to the waiter and chase him down for the corrected check.
I've now seen on other reviews that they have a fun habit of charging things that were never ordered.
Do not go here. If you get sucked into his tourist trap, CHECK...
Read moreWhile on our honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, we enjoyed a peaceful lunch at Mi Casa (at the suggestion of a family member). The restaurant is rather deceiving from the outside - the space is very large, with several rooms filled with colorful murals and interesting decor. Mi Casa even has its own gift/souvenir shop, where we purchased a few shot glasses to remember our visit.
We were promptly seated in the main dining room, a covered but open concept. Our server recommended we try the Clase Azul Reposado, which is an incredibly smooth, sweet and complex tequila. Since this would be our only visit, we wanted to try a few things on the menu. We decided to order the Los Sopes de Cochinita (so delicious) and the taco sampler platter (also incredibly delicious, especially the Cochinita).
After thoroughly enjoying our lunch, we explored the rest of the restaurant and stopped in the gift shop before heading back to our resort.
We received very friendly and attentive service and the food and atmosphere were terrific. We had a great afternoon relaxing at Mi...
