I was told that The HaloMango manager takes the time to read the reviews, so I hope this review catches your eye because I've got some thoughts to share. As an ice cream aficionado and a frequent visitor to the Philippines, I’ve always been drawn to Halomango for its unique use of one of the country's finest treasures: its mangoes. The mango-flavored ice cream at Halomango has been a highlight of my trips, embodying the exceptional quality of Philippine mangoes.
However, during my recent visit, I noticed a slight decline in quality, possibly due to the seasonal nature of the mangoes. Consistency is crucial in business, and while Halomango has been successful since 2007, there are a few areas that I believe need attention:
Sandwiches: Initially, offering sandwiches might have been a good idea, but realistically, customers come to Halomango for ice cream, not for tuna sandwiches. With the stiff competition in Boracay and Bohol for such offerings, I suggest removing sandwiches from the menu entirely. Just move on and forget about it. Ice Cream Flavors: The mango flavor is undoubtedly superb (when it's there). However, introducing new flavors could add variety and enhance the overall experience. Imagine a rich chocolate or another kickass Filipino fruit alongside that mango? My suggestion is to introduce a bold flavor like chocolate or another distinct Filipino fruit that complements mango. Cones: The current cones, while aesthetically pleasing, are lacking in quality and taste, often affecting the decision to repurchase. Improving the cone quality to make them crunchier and perhaps offering freshly made cones could significantly elevate the eating experience. Honestly just change it, you have a lot to win, little to loose with this change. The mango: the mangoes are cheap, widespread and super tasty... Why not double down on them in your ice cream? Let that natural mango flavor really shine through.
Your shakes are great (especially watermelon and mangoes), keep them as they are. Looking forward to these changes so I can upgrade my rating from...
Read moreMango Heaven! I have known of this place through Google Maps also. When I went to Boracay recently I made sure to try it. The mango soft serve with mango tidbits is really gonna quench you're thirst for mango flavor. But what I really liked the most is the Mango Bingsu. It has a lot of texture. It contains pineapple, banana, mango and powdered milk which works perfectly together. The queue outside the store is always long but it's worth the wait in line. However if you want to skip the long queue you could order inside but they'll be charging you with service tax. But hey, if you want to enjoy your Halo Mango desserts in a cool and comfortable situation then do eat inside. But if you want to enjoy your Halo Mango dessert with the setting sun or the beach as your view then feel free to do so. Either way you'll truly enjoy these treats. Would love for the rest of my family to try it. It is located in the D*Mall in Station 1 in Boracay. You could ride a tricycle going there or you could walk your way passing...
Read moreIt's best not to let yourself be seduced and manipulated. The smiling faces on the ice cream are meant to be inviting. But they only want to seduce you into getting your money and consuming lots of sugar. The choice is yours: do you want to be mentally strong? Are you a winner? Or do you just want a sugar kick that satisfies you for a short time but doesn't make you happy in the long term.
This time I lost. Next time I will win and get rid of the sugar.
The mango ice cream here tastes really delicious. But let’s not have any illusions—it’s all synthetic. It’s openly stated that the texture and flavor are made to mimic real mangoes. They’ve really brought out the chemical arsenal—very good, perfect.
Warning, irony starts here: I think real mangoes don’t taste as good as these artificial ones, and real mangoes should adapt to the chemistry in the future to compete...
