Where expectations go to die â slowly, and with a 1000 baht deposit.
I walked into this place thinking Iâd found a cool hidden gem. Little did I know, I was stepping into a masterclass on how not to run a hospitality business.
First red flag? Iâm asked to pay a deposit before even seeing the menu. Not because the place was full â quite the opposite. It was empty. Iâm told itâs 1000 baht for a regular table, or 1400 baht if I want the âluxuryâ of sitting by the empty pool. Very exclusive⊠for absolutely no one.
I kindly suggest I sit down, get settled, and then pay the deposit once I know where Iâll be â a revolutionary concept, apparently.
We sit at the 1000 baht table and I try to order a double beef burger. Spoiler: no beef today. Ok, fine â I downgrade my dreams to a chicken burger.
Fast forward 45 minutes (not a typo), and the table next to us â who arrived after us â has eaten, and is probably halfway to the beach. My girlfriendâs meal finally arrives. Mine? Missing in action. I literally had to walk to the kitchen and ask for it like I was looking for a lost suitcase at the airport. It shows up 10 minutes later.
They say theyâll give us 20% off the bill. We never saw it.
Determined to get close to the 1000 baht deposit, I ask for dessert. They offer 3. I choose the only one that sounds decent: vanilla brownie ice cream. Naturally, theyâre out of that too. Because why not?
At this point, I ask for my money back. Out of 1000 baht paid, they return⊠250. I spent less than that, but logic clearly doesnât live here.
My girlfriend left the restaurant out of sheer disappointment. I followed, equally amazed by how perfectly everything went wrong.
In summary: zero hospitality, no internal coordination, a menu as stable as a crypto coin, and an experience I wouldnât wish on my worst enemyâs stomach.
Also bad point for the nearby works; very noisy. But at least thatâs out of their control.
Avoid. Unless you enjoy paying to suffer...
Read moretldr: this is a 5 star restaurant. only if its out of 100.
if you're thinking of coming here, come with a full stomach. The views are the only positives of this place. The food and drinks are very very underwhelming and lackluster. our group had a total of 15pax, so clearly we ordered a variety of food. and we can safely say that 95% of our food and drinks were pretty bad tasting. some of our dishes didnt even come as we were leaving for the airport. and service was also subpar, there wasnt a waiter to show us to our seats, we just hanged around and asked them for seats. If u want to come , come just. for. the. view. but keep in mind need to pay 200 baht to enter which can be spent on food and drinks. also keep in mind if you lose the ticket due to strong winds, they won't give you another ticket. didn't try the alcoholic drinks but the non-alcoholic drinks are a miss, if a restaurant can mess up a watermelon shake, you know its terrible. there's an artifical taste and some extra flavouring to it which we cant even tell what it is. latte was also atrocious, felt like only 1ml of espresso was added. the vanilla milkshake was very artificial as well.... we also ordered waffle with whip cream and maple syrup, but only to be surprised with fruits and chocolate sauce instead. the shakshuka was a disappointment beyond believe. it was essentially a tomato soup. the carbonara also didnt have much taste to it, cheese was really bland. the pizza was the only saving grace but to be honest it was still very mid for the price. take note that there aren't many vegetarian options as well . thought we could end off our trip here in phuket with a banger but got such a huge disappointment instead. dont trust tiktoks...
Read moreWow, I've discovered an absolute treasure in Phuket - The Commune! As someone who appreciates a good atmosphere and beautiful scenery, this place exceeded my expectations. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the breathtaking ocean view. The bar's design is modern and stylish, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were super friendly, making me feel right at home. I couldn't resist hitting the dance floor as the DJ played some awesome tunes, and I found plenty of comfortable seating options to chill out in between dances. Although the drinks were a bit pricey, the quality of the cocktails made it worth every penny. I couldn't get enough of their signature concoctions - they were truly amazing! I highly recommend The Commune to anyone visiting Phuket. This place has it all, and I can't wait to come back and make more unforgettable memories here.
