"The Oval Bar Dublin" undeniably embodies the rich history and unwavering spirit of the Irish in a captivating manner. After visiting the GPO, it felt only fitting to step into this historic pub to toast to the heroism, resilience, and fighting spirit of the Irish.

The atmosphere at "The Oval Bar Dublin" is as authentic and inviting as can be. As soon as you open the door, you are enveloped in an aura of bygone times, from the antique wooden furnishings to the historic photos adorning the walls. It's as if history comes alive in every corner of this place.

The drink menu is equally impressive. With a glass of Guinness, you can truly immerse yourself in Irish culture and savor the delicious beer inseparably linked to the country. The friendly bartenders are true experts in their craft and possess an extensive knowledge of Irish beer's history and traditions.

What truly sets "The Oval Bar Dublin" apart, however, is the sense of community and togetherness. Here, you'll encounter not only travelers from all around the world but also locals who are eager to share their stories and anecdotes. It's a place where you feel like part of the family and where you can fully experience the warmth of Irish hospitality.

As I sat in this historic pub, I couldn't help but reflect on the brave men and women who fought for their beliefs in the tumultuous times of Irish history. "The Oval Bar Dublin" is a monument to their spirit and legacy.

Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend "The Oval Bar Dublin." It's more than just a pub; it's a living piece of history that reflects the essence of Ireland in every corner. A visit here is a journey into the past and a tribute to the strength and pride of the...

Absolutely sterling pub!

We had wandered through the streets of Temple bar looking for anywhere decent and appetising for a good hour but only found uninspiring "pubs" with expensive menus offering naff looking food. The vibe in these gaffs was unappealing too, hen dos and bad oasis covers everywhere. We gave up and decided to cross the river. I'm so glad we did.

We stumbled past the Oval Bar and we're instantly taken by it. On the outside it looks unpretentious and on the inside the decor is a stunning Georgian splendor. By the door you will find 7 busts of the men who proclaimed the Irish Republic in 1916. This is a hint at the part this pub has in Dublin's history. The full history of the pub can be found on the website and is a recommended read. If you are on a tour of Dublin's historical landmarks this would be a great stop off as it's just minutes from the GPO.

The service was warm and welcoming. We ate on the first floor while a gent sat on the ground floor playing the fiddle while enjoying a pint of the city's famed porter. We ordered the Steak & Guinness Pie and the Irish Stew which was received with a knowing smile from the waitress, "Could of guessed that order?" I joked. "It's by far the most common order" she replied. Both dishes were a very reasonable €15, significantly cheaper than anything in Temple Bar. They were full of flavour and the meat was plentiful.

We left full, happy and incredibly glad we didn't give up and cram ourselves into a pub...

This is the best bar you will find in Dublin. From the architecture to the food and the staff, everything is just perfect! It is beautifully decorated from the bar to the sitting areas upstairs. The staff is lovely, helpful and quick. Bryan was our server and always made sure everything was right, but everyone else from the bar was just awesome! The food was amazing - the reason we came here in the first place was because I really wanted to try the Guinness Pie and their reviews were really good. My expectations were high, but the reality was even better! The dish was delicious, really! I most definitely recommend this place for a nice traditional dinner or just a good pint. Seat at the bar, enjoy a sip, talk to the staff (they’re super nice) and enjoy the beauty of the place. You won’t regret!!
