overpriced food, served undercooked, cold food and bad service and help from staff when expressing issues politely.

Went for brunch due to high ratings. we ordered a vegetarian breakfast, french toast and two frappes. after sitting down we was told there’s no frappes available and to pick something else “like a milkshake or a smoothie” as the worker said. we picked two of the same smoothie which are about 50p more expensive than the frappes. we were served the tiniest singular piece of french toast was brought out, which for £9 you’d expect a bit of a bigger portion and a stone cold, undercooked vegetarian breakfast.

staff then had the audacity to bring the card machine over to the table to charge us an extra £1.10 for the smoothies we didn’t want in the first place.

the staff were incredibly unhelpful after we politely expressed our issues and made no attempt to rectify the situation.

I’d hope this is a one off situation however it was incredibly disappointing for...

I have come here with my grandad for a number of years and haven’t been in a while, we decided to go again and the experience was not pleasant. Food and coffee was ok but the environment was not. We got there 1h/40mins ish before closing and while we had just been served and sat at our table they were sweeping floors and making extremely loud noise in the kitchen which was especially irritating and uncomfortable for my grandad as he is deaf so we struggled to communicate. Floors were wet and slippy from mopping while there were people still in there. The staff were very preoccupied in cleaning early to the point a woman was waiting to be served for so long that she left and was ignored by staff. Really disappointed in this after returning again after a year or so and was not the nice cafe I...

Luckily our bill was half price due to Eat out scheme, otherwise I’d have been very unhappy. Sausage roll for my 3 year old was “warmed up” but still stone cold in middle. Toastie was literally a couple of pieces of toast with the tiniest portion of tuna in the middle...really poor. Toilet roll in toilets hadn’t been replenished and staff weren’t overly friendly. To top it off, the manager entered the store with a group of friends/family members like they were the royal family....demanding to the staff they clean the table where they were Wanted to sit and spending half an hour discussing the options for their food/drink whilst ignoring the struggling staff (or speaking to them rudely) and the cafe full...

Well established cafe located inside the Grosvenor shopping centre. Very strong coffee! When I visited, it was quite busy, but the staff were working very fast, so my order arrived in good time. I had an Americano with a cinnamon swirl, just a quick snack, and sat on one of the high tables with stools, for those who are just popping in for a quick drink. There are plenty of tables and chairs for groups, including some comfy chairs, if you want to get settled in. But I would say this cafe is best for anyone seeking respite from the busy shopping precinct, rather than as a place to watch the world go by. Plenty of options for lunch - a good selection of baguette sandwiches - plus of course the muffins!

Been a fan of Muffin Break since I discovered it when I lived in Notts and was over the moon when they opened it here in Chester's Grosvenor. Yummy muffins, delicious milkshakes and very filling paninis and hot sandwiches. The Xmas hot chocolates are so tasty. They also have dairy free options which my son will appreciate when he's a bit older and weaned. High chairs and baby changing facilities are available. This was my go to stop whenever I went to Chester with a young baby and needed a place to breastfeed. The staff is very nice and helpful and always made me feel welcome.

Personally cannot believe they serve coffee. Barista had no idea of what "long black" was and served me with mocha macchiato. I did tried to explain what I was trying to order but the barista, who seemed to be a manager or higher in charged insisted to get me mocha macchiato was quite bizarre. Also, I have visited this place almost every day at different time of the day but every other day they changed their policies on accepting student discount or not. Muffins are indeed great, but maybe better off being a bakery with no hot drinks.
